Naturalist and biologist Charles Darwin is considered the “father of evolution” from his contributions to the field of evolutionary biology and his theory of natural selection. Many of Darwin’s collections during his expedition on the HMS Beagle around South America formed the groundwork for his theories. Though his work was once considered by many as controversial following the release of “On the Origin of Species”, his discoveries are held with high regard today and his work has inspired many great scientists and thinkers. We at Nate D. Sanders Auctions have achieved great realized prices on Charles Darwin items and can help you sell or consign your Charles Darwin memorabilia.

Below are some of our top Charles Darwin memorabilia sales:

5) Charles Darwin Autograph Letter Signed to Naturalist Henry Walter Bates

In a letter dated 12 February 1879, Darwin writes to Bates regarding a document to be sent to The Royal Society, a UK-based Fellowship of esteemed scientists and the oldest national scientific association.
