Walt Disney Signed “Lady and the Tramp” Print

Walt Disney signed print from the animation classic “Lady and the Tramp”. Disney’s large signature – measuring approximately 4.75″ x 2.25″ with a flourish, appears on mat underneath the illustration of Tramp and Lady. With Walt Disney Productions label on verso, taped to a contemporary backing. Mat measures 14″ x 15″. Light toning and some discoloration to mat, overall very good condition. Sold for $3,400.

Walt Disney Signed “Lady & the Tramp” Reproduction Cel Signed

Rare Walt Disney signed reproduction cel from the 1955 classic ”Lady and the Tramp.” Beautiful full ”Walt Disney” signature, with a flourish, appears on the mat surrounding the illustration from ”Lady,” showing the title characters along with Trusty the bloodhound and Jock the Scottish terrier. One of Disney’s most popular and successful movies, ”Lady and the Tramp” surpassed all other Disney movies at the box office when it was released in 1955 except for the classic ”Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.” This reproduction cel is part of a limited edition and measures 10” x 8”. Cream-colored mat measures 16.75” x 15.75”. In very good condition, with light uniform toning and light foxing to the mat. Large, bold signature is prominent in the display. Accompanied by a Phil Sears COA. Sold for $3,355.

Disney animation cel from the beloved 1955 feature “Lady and the Tramp”. Cel is an excellent full-length portrayal of Lady at home with a joyful facial expression as she glances up at the human shown in dogs-eye-view, from the legs down. Colorful animation set-up features Disney authentication seal on the reverse and comes framed with acid-free backing to an overall size of 24.25″ x 17.5″. Cel is in fine condition. Sold for $1,250.

Disney Animation Cels From “Lady and the Tramp” — Set Up Together

Original animation cels from “Lady and the Tramp”, Disney’s heartwarming 1955 canine love story. The charming dog couple look lively here, arranged against the outside of Tony’s Italian restaurant, the site of the iconic spaghetti kiss. Two cels are set up together, matted to an overall size of 21.25″ x 16.5″. Near fine. Sold for $938.

Superb Drawing of Mickey Mouse by Walt Disney, Signed by Disney — With Phil Sears COA

Walt Disney signed drawing of Mickey Mouse, scarce and without inscription. Rendered in pencil, Disney fills nearly the whole 4.625” x 7.5” page with both his large signature and Mickey’s smiling face. Page is within a green paper-bound ruled notebook, with child’s drawing on verso. Very good to near fine condition. With a COA from Phil Sears, who authenticates both the drawing as signature as Walt Disney’s. Sold for $18,750.

Walt Disney Signed Drawing of Mickey Mouse — Sketched Within a First Edition Copy of “The Art of Walt Disney” — An Exceptionally Rare Disney Piece

Scarce illustration of Mickey Mouse, drawn and signed by Walt Disney inside a first edition copy of “The Art of Walt Disney”. The commemorative book, published by Macmillan: New York: 1942 features a beautiful illustration of a smiling Mickey Mouse to the front free endpaper, hand-drawn in blue crayon by Walt Disney. Handwritten note reads: “To Mick Olson / From One ‘M’ to Another! Best Wishes From Walt Disney”. Hardcover first edition has tan cloth boards with orange black lettering to the cover, and illustrations throughout. Written by Robert D. Feild, who gives a wonderful narrative and pictorial history of Disney’s legendary career. Measures 8.5″ x 11.5″ and runs 290pp. Very slight cocking to the spine, and light toning. Small stain to top of front cover. Very good. Sold for $15,125.

Disney Original Concept Painting From 1964 for “It’s a Small World” by Mary Blair — Measures 20″ x 15″

“It’s a Small World” original concept painting, created in 1964 for Walt Disney by Mary Blair, a “Disney Legend” who designed concept art for “Cinderella”, “Alice in Wonderland” and “Peter Pan”. Originally a pavilion at the 1964 World’s Fair, “It’s a Small World” captured the attention of Walt Disney, who commissioned Mary Blair to adapt it into a ride at Disneyland. Her subsequent artwork is presented here — a gorgeous 1960s inspired castle-themed piece in colors of pink, green and gold against a contrasting black background. The entrance to the ride is clearly evident in the artwork, referencing Blair’s mod-castle aesthetic with soft colors. Board measures 20″ x 15″. Light edge wear and pinholes at corners, otherwise near fine. Beautiful, large concept art for the iconic Disney attraction. Sold for $15,332.

Ray Bradbury Personally Owned ”Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” Original Cel — Featuring the Old Hag Handing Snow White the Poisoned Red Apple

Original animation cel from Disney’s 1937 classic ”Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” featuring the most famous moment in the film, the Queen in her old hag disguise handing Snow White the famed poisoned apple. Snow White is portrayed in her iconic gown and with a red bow in her hair, innocently looking at the bright red apple. With ”Snow White and the Witch” handwritten in cursive pencil to left side mat below cel, along with, ”Original / WDP (Walt Disney Pictures)” in ink to bottom right. Cel measures 11” x 7.5”, matted in white with a gilt color frame to an overall size of 20” x 16”. Cel is pristine and in fine condition. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate. Sold for $15,000.

Walt Disney Signed Original “Pinocchio” Cel Featuring Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket on Original Background — Signed Mat Measures 15″ x 16″ — With Phil Sears COA & Courvoisier Galleries Label

Walt Disney signed animation cel used in Disney’s 1940 classic “Pinocchio”, the groundbreaking follow-up to the first full length Disney animated film, ”Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. Very large cel, featuring Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket, measures 4.5″ x 5.5″, with original background measuring 7.5″ by 9.5″, and mat measuring 15″ x 16″ upon which Disney signs, “To Gorden Crier / Best Wishes / Walt Disney”. Disney gifted Gordon Crier the cel after Crier produced a BBC program about Disney in the late 1940s, at the conclusion of which Disney asked Crier what his favorite cartoon was, to which Crier replied, “Pinocchio”. With Courvoisier Galleries sticker affixed to backing certifying that both the background and cel were used in the filming of “Pinocchio”. Walt Disney Productions stamp appears on mat, above Disney’s signature, reading “original / WDP”. Uniform toning to mat and small amount of abrasion to edges. Cel itself is near fine. With an LOA from Crier’s daughter and a COA from Phil Sears. A rare, special Disney signed cel from one of the classics in animated film, also unusual for its size. Sold for $12,000.

Walt Disney Hand-Drawn Sketch of Donald Duck, Signed by Disney — With Phil Sears COA for Both Signature & Drawing

Rare, large Walt Disney signed sketch of Donald Duck, who Disney created in the early 1930s as a friend to Mickey Mouse. Composed in pencil, Disney signs ”Walt Disney” below the large drawing, showing Donald smiling with his characteristic sailor hat. Drawing is double-matted, with visible portion measuring approximately 5.5” x 8.5”. Entire presentation measures 13” x 17”. Some folds and creasing, overall in very good condition. With a COA from Disney expert Phil Sears, for both the signature and drawing. Sold for $11,949.

Disney Original Concept Painting From 1946 for “Song of the South” by Mary Blair — Measures 13.5″ x 11″

Mary Blair 1946 concept painting for Disney’s “Song of the South”. A “Disney Legend” who designed concept art for several Disney films including “Cinderella”, Mary Blair famously visited the South before creating concept art for “Song of the South”, with her research evident here in the landscape and mood. Gouache painting on board shows Br’er Bear, Br’er Fox and Tar-Baby about to set a trap for Br’er Rabbit. Board measures 13.5″ x 11″. Light edge wear and pinholes at corners, otherwise near fine.  Sold for $11,025.

Ray Bradbury’s personally owned ”Alice in Wonderland” Disney animation cel. Art from the classic 1951 film features a wide-eyed Alice encountering the living pair of eyeglasses. Hand-painted characters are cut out precisely and mounted to an illustrated background. Alice measures 4.5” x 5.25”. Glasses measure 5.5” x 4”. Background measures 13” x 11”, matted to an overall size of 19” x 18”. Toning to mat and a small smudge to Alice’s cheek, else near fine.
