What Is An Animation Celluloid?
Celluloids, more commonly known as cels, were necessary for creating animated films during Disney’s Golden Age before digital processes dominated. Each cel was meticulously created by hand to capture a character’s movement frame by frame. Cels have become highly collectible since the animation field began transitioning to digital animation in the 1990s. We’ve sold a variety of Disney cels, both autographed by Walt Disney and unsigned.
