Charles Darwin’s Legacy
Naturalist and biologist Charles Darwin is considered the “father of evolution” from his contributions to the field of evolutionary biology and his theory of natural selection. Many of Darwin’s collections during his expedition on the HMS Beagle around South America formed the groundwork for his theories. Though his work was once considered by many as controversial following the release of “On the Origin of Species”, his discoveries are held with high regard today and his work has inspired many great scientists and thinkers.
