Einstein discusses world tensions prior to WWII, his attempts to help European Jews by writing affidavits and Hitler. This exceptional letter was sold for $31,250.

Letter Signed on Theory of Relativity – Sold for $31,250
Einstein reaches out to a Mr. Arthur L. Cohen in Los Angeles in this fantastic typed letter dated 26 December 1928 and sent from Berlin. Einstein writes about the laws of motion related to his theories of relativity and also discusses if space exists outside our universe. We realized $31,250 for this single page letter.

Autograph Letter Signed – Sold for $30,250
In March 1933 Albert Einstein and his wife Elsa were returning to their summer home in Caputh, Germany via the S.S. Belgenland ship and learned that Nazis had raided their cottage. In that moment they decided it was too dangerous to stay in Germany, and upon docking in Brussels, Einstein turned in his passport at the German Consulate in Brussels and renounced his German citizenship. We sold a historical letter written on S.S. Belgenland to Einstein’s sister for $30,250.

Autograph Letter Signed from 1947 – Sold for $24,063
We realized $24,063 for an Albert Einstein handwritten letter to his German psychiatrist friend, Otto Juliusburger. The pair had become friends in Germany, and following Einstein’s emigration to the U.S., Juliusburger agreed to also emigrate after some encouragement and help from Einstein. The friends continued to correspond over the years. This single page letter dated 22 January 1947 discusses Germany’s ”attachment to Nazi-dom”, American culture following WWII, their professional lives and mutual friend Gustav Peter Bucky.

Autograph Letter Signed from 1916 – Sold for $18,750
We sold a three page handwritten and signed letter dated 14 July 1916 to friend Michele Besso for $18,750. The letter discusses previously unpublished details about Einstein’s relationship with his first wife, Mileva, and his two estranged children. Letter is accompanied with original mailing envelope and full English translation of the letter.
