The 1912 Summer Olympics (Swedish: Olympiska sommarspelen 1912), officially known as the Games of the V Olympiad (Swedish: Den V olympiadens spel) and commonly known as Stockholm 1912, were an international multi-sport event held in Stockholm, Sweden, between 5 May and 22 July 1912.
Bronze medal from the V Olympiad, won at the Olympic games in Stockholm, Sweden in 1912. Obverse of medal bears a relief of two female figures, placing a crown atop an athlete; the reverse is a relief of a herald proclaiming “Ling”, the founder of the Swedish gym system, with “Olympiska / Spelen / Stockholm 1912″ written around edge. Medal measures 1.4” or 33 mm in diameter. Weighs 17.9 g or 0.63 oz. Near fine. Sold for $2,800.
