Walt Disney Signed ”Cinderella” Book
Walt Disney signed picture book of ”Cinderella”, published in conjunction with the 1950 Disney animated film of the same name. New York: Simon and Schuster, 1950. Disney signs the title page in dark blue fountain pen, ”To Donna / Best Wishes / Walt Disney”. Book measures 9.625” x 13.25”. Backstrip missing and wear to boards; overall in very good condition with a near fine interior. Sold for $4,000.

Scarce illustration of Mickey Mouse, drawn and signed by Walt Disney inside a first edition copy of “The Art of Walt Disney”. The commemorative book, published by Macmillan: New York: 1942 features a beautiful illustration of a smiling Mickey Mouse to the front free endpaper, hand-drawn in blue crayon by Walt Disney. Handwritten note reads: “To Mick Olson / From One ‘M’ to Another! Best Wishes From Walt Disney”. Hardcover first edition has tan cloth boards with orange black lettering to the cover, and illustrations throughout. Written by Robert D. Feild, who gives a wonderful narrative and pictorial history of Disney’s legendary career. Measures 8.5″ x 11.5″ and runs 290pp. Very slight cocking to the spine, and light toning. Small stain to top of front cover. Very good. Sold for $15,125.

Walt Disney signed ”The Art of Animation”, also signed by 21 of Disney’s creative team. Authored by Bob Thomas and published by Simon and Schuster, Inc. in 1958, ”The Art of Animation” outlines the development of animation techniques by Walt Disney and his company, with interviews and examples from classic cartoons and movies. Signed ”Walt Disney” on the fly-leaf, almost filling the entire page, and countersigned throughout the book by Disney’s original artists: Ken Anderson, Xavier Atencio, Don DaGradi, Eric Larson (signs twice), Bill Justice, Tom Oreb, Bill Peet, Joe Rinaldi, McLaren Stewart, Gerry Geronimi, Tom Codrick, Don Griffith, Ernest Nordli, Ward Kimball, Frank Thomas, John Lounsbery, Marc Davis, Milt Kahl, Woolie Reitherman, Ollie Johnston and Les Clark. Together these men created, directed and animated ”Fantasia”, ”Bambi”, ”Alice in Wonderland”, ”Peter Pan” and scores of others, as well as ”Imagineering” Disneyland attractions. Bound in publisher’s beige and grey boards, book measures 8.25” x 11.25” and runs 188pp. Previous owner’s name written to front board, and light wear to boards. Interior is bright and clean. Overall in very good condition. Sold for $6,406.

Scarce Walt Disney signed copy of his animated masterpiece, ”Walt Disney’s Fantasia” by Deems Taylor. With an introduction by Disney and a foreword by Leopold Stokowski, conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra who scored the motion picture. Simon and Schuster: New York: 1940. First edition. Book has ”Danny Moyer” written to cover and is signed by various Disney members inscribing notes to Moyer, including Disney himself who signs title page, ”To Danny Moyer / With Best Wishes / Walt Disney” in his iconic handwriting. Book has 20+ incredible personalized illustrations throughout, presumably by various Disney illustrators who additionally write personal notes to Moyer wishing him good luck in his next endeavor. Illustrated book contains a wealth of background information on the groundbreaking animated classic, including blurbs about the pieces of music performed for it. 158pp. are bound in putty color cloth boards with blue print lettering, measuring 9.5” x 13”. Some foxing, toning and wear throughout, and splitting along spine. Housed in a blue cloth slipcase with elegant leather spine. Very good condition. Sold for $6,250.

Walt Disney Signed “Fantasia” 1940
Walt Disney signed rare book, “Walt Disney’s Fantasia” by Deems Taylor; with a foreward by Leopold Stokowski, conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra during the scoring of the motion picture. Simon and Schuster: New York: 1940. First edition with original first edition dustjacket. Signed in ink to gratitude page, “To Irene, With My Best Wishes, Walt Disney.” The book version of Disney’s “Fantasia” with a magnificent gallery of pictures, most in exquisitely vivid color. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity by David R. Smith of the Walt Disney Archives. Folio with tan cloth covered boards. Blue text on the spine and front board; illustrated end papers. Dustjacket shows price of $3.75. Autograph is bold and in mint condition. Volume shows wear to board ends and some soiling to top page edges. An exceptional piece of Disneyana in very good condition. Sold for $4,440.

Walt Disney Signed Copy of ”Ave Maria” From ”Fantasia”
Walt Disney signed copy of ”Ave Maria”, the ”interpretation from Walt Disney’s ‘Fantasia”’. Disney signs in blue crayon on the front free endpaper, ”To Mrs Geo Williams with my best wishes – Walt Disney”. Printed by Random House, with a 1940 copyright by Walt Disney Productions, book is a beautiful presentation of ”Ave Maria”, with gilt accents throughout, paired with iridescent color pictures from ”Fantasia”. Sheet music appears in back, along with pictorial endpapers. Book measures 7.25” x 10.25”, bound in blue cloth boards. Light shelf wear and very light toning, overall in very good plus condition. Sold for $4,226.

Walt Disney signed picture book of ”Peter Pan”, published in conjunction with the 1953 Disney animated film of the same name. New York: Simon and Schuster, 1952. Disney signs the illustrated front free endpaper in blue fountain pen, ”To Christina Prugger / Best Wishes / Walt Disney”. Book measures 9.5” x 13.25”. Heavy wear to detached boards, interior is near fine except for minor discoloration on right edge of signature page. With Phil Sears COA. Sold for $4,000.

“Art of Walt Disney” 1st Edition Signed
First edition “The Art of Walt Disney” by Robert D. Field, signed by Walt Disney. New York: The Macmillan Company: 1942. Signed boldly in blue fountain ink to half title page, “Walt Disney.” Accompanied by dustjacket and housed in handsome navy half-leather clamshell case. An early celebration of the art of Walt Disney, largely based on material collected between June 1939 and May 1940, specifically his pioneering work in the field of animation. Light scattered soiling to interior and edgewear to dustjacket, otherwise excellent. Sold for $3,900.

Walt Disney ”Pinocchio” Book Signed — With The Signatures of More Than 20 Early Disney Animators
Walt Disney signed ”Pinocchio”, published by Random House: New York: 1939. Hardcover volume is inscribed upon the copyright page in giant bold letters in Disney’s distinctive hand, ”To Al / Best / Wishes / Walt Disney”. A small note appears to the upper right, ”To Al Parke” in an unknown hand, and 1940 has been lightly written at the bottom of the page. Unpaginated children’s story book is illustrated in both color and black and white, and is signed throughout by more than 20 early Disney animators. Bound in pictorial paper boards with blue cloth spine and pictorial endpapers. Measures 8.5” x 11.5”. Ever so slight toning to leaves, cocking to spine and wear to the bottom edges of boards. Near fine. Sold for $3,438.

Art of Walt Disney Signed by Him with Phil Sears COA
Attractive copy of “The Art of Walt Disney” signed by the master animator Walt Disney in pencil on the half-title page, “To Lt. Roche / From / Walt Disney”, with Disney’s large signature and flourish measuring 5.75″ x 2.25″. Book is authored by Robert Feild who, through this volume, was one of the first to recognize Walt Disney’s creations as true art. New York: The Macmillan Company, 1942. Hardcover with dust jacket measures 8.5″ x 11.25″ and runs 290 pages, with 59 illustration plates, some in color. Though dust jacket showing $3.50 price is present, it’s in poor condition, with chipping and most of spine absent. Book, however, is in very good to near fine condition, with only a few smudges and light wear. Accompanied by a COA from Walt Disney autograph expert Phil Sears. Sold for $3,375.


Walt Disney Signed Illustrated Copy of “Vanishing Prairie” from the “True-Life Adventures” Nature Documentary Series
Walt Disney signed copy of “Vanishing Prairie”, inscribed by Disney to cinematographer James R. Simon, who worked on several of the Disney “True-Life Adventures” nature documentaries, including this one. New York: Simon and Schuster, no date. Signed by Disney on the half-title page, “To Jim Simon / My thanks and appreciation – / Walt Disney” in blue fountain pen. Book is beautifully illustrated with photographs taped onto the pages, to complement the live action nature documentary. Measures 9.125″ x 11.625″. Separation starting to front hinge, with signature leaf detached, and mild shelf wear, otherwise near fine. Sold for $3,138.

Walt Disney signed picture book of ”The Three Caballeros”, published in conjunction with the 1944 Disney animated film of the same name. New York: Simon and Schuster, 1944. Disney signs the front free endpaper in green crayon, ”To Lois Armour / With Best Wishes / Walt Disney”. Book measures 9” x 11.25”. Backstrip missing, wear to boards and tape repair to hinges. Previous owner’s name written above Disney’s on signature page. Overall in good to very good condition. With Phil Sears COA stating that Disney’s signature is circa 1940s. Sold for $3,125.


Walt Disney signed copy of ”Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, signed in blue crayon and taking up nearly the full page of the front free endpaper. Grosset & Dunlap: New York: 1938. This edition came on the heels of the 1937 film, which overcame all odds to be the most successful film of the year and garnered Disney one full and seven miniature Oscars. Hardcover measures 9” x 7.5” and runs 40pp. Cocking to spine and separation of pages starting at joint. Good to very good condition. Sold for $2,290.
