Theodore Roosevelt Signed Limited Edition of His Book

Signed limited edition of Theodore Roosevelt’s “Big Game Hunting in the Rockies and on the Great Plains”. New York: G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 1899. Number 166 of 1,000 in the limited edition. Elegant fountain ink signature to pictorial frontispiece reads “Theodore Roosevelt” beneath a photograph showing Roosevelt in Rough Rider regalia taken by Civil War photographer George G. Rockwood. This volume combines two previous Roosevelt books “Hunting Trips of a Ranchman” and “The Wilderness Hunter”, and measures 8.5″ x 11″. Missing front and rear boards, but interior is generally well-preserved, with all 55 illustrations present and with their descriptive tissue guards. Signed Rough Rider photograph of Roosevelt has some foxing and toning, but overall in very good plus condition. Sold for $1,900.
