Space Shuttle Explosion STS-107 First Day Cover Signed
STS-107 was the 113th flight of the Space Shuttle program, and the 28th and final flight of Space Shuttle Columbia. The mission launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on 16 January 2003 and during its 15 days, 22 hours, 20 minutes, 32 seconds in orbit conducted a multitude of international scientific experiments.
Rare First Day Cover signed by each of the seven crew members from the STS-107 Columbia Space Shuttle mission, the final Columbia flight, which ended in disaster as the shuttle exploded on re-entry to earth. Cover features each astronaut’s signature in black ink next to their title for the mission: “Rick Husband”, “Willie McCool”, “David M. Brown”, “Kalpana Chawla”, “Michael Anderson”, “Laurel Clark” and “Ilan Ramon”. Postmarked twice on 16 January 2003 and 3 February 2003 from the Kennedy Space Center. Measures 6.5″x 3.75″. Near fine. Sold for $720.
