The Star Wars films were created by George Lucas, beginning with the first trilogy in 1977. The space fantasy series revolves around the struggles between the light and dark sides of the Force. Since the original trilogy debuted, there have been two other film trilogies, standalone films and several show spinoffs including Ewoks and Droids.

“The Empire Strikes Back” Concept Movie Poster Art — Sold for $13,650
Concept movie poster art by famed designer Tom Jung for “The Empire Strikes Back”, revised here to include Harrison Ford as “Han Solo”, who emerged from “Star Wars” as one of the lead characters in the franchise. The large, dramatic artwork features Darth Vader with a beckoning, outstretched arm, standing ominously over his horde of Stormtroopers, with Luke Skywalker riding a tauntaun and Han Solo firing his DL-44 blaster. Artwork is rendered on acid-free paper, done in HB pencil and graphite stick. Measures 19″ x 24″. Light wear, otherwise near fine. Lot is accompanied by the final advertising artwork, here in postcard format for framing, measuring 4″ x 6″. Near fine. Sold for $13,650.

“Empire Strikes Back” Storyboard — Sold for $3,000
Original storyboard from “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back”. Watercolor and ink drawing depicts Darth Vader looking into space with one of his subordinates. Above the drawing are “CE6” and “Omit” written in pencil. Measures 10.5″ x 8.5″. Near fine condition. From the collection of “Star Wars” Special Effects Artist and Art Director Joe Johnston and with his COA. Sold for $3,000.

“Return of the Jedi” Concept Movie Poster Art — Sold for $1,800
Concept movie poster art by famed designer Tom Jung for “Star Wars – Episode VI: Return of the Jedi”. Both versions (one on each side of the 24″ x 19″ paper) feature Darth Vader towering over Luke Skywalker, a la David vs. Goliath, as father and son fight their final lightsaber duel. Artwork rendered in pencil on artist paper. Light wear, otherwise near fine. Sold for $1,800.

Ralph McQuarrie Signed Star Wars Lithograph — Sold for $1,520
Illustrator Ralph McQuarrie signed limited edition lithograph of his production painting from the original “Star Wars” film in 1977. Artwork shows an X-Wing fighter being pursued by a TIE fighter within the Death Star. Lithograph is #156 of a limited edition of 250, signed by McQuarrie in silver paint at lower right. Measures 20″ x 11.5″, custom-matted to 24″ x 15″. Near fine condition. With Goldin COA. Sold for $1,520.
