Shel Silverstein signed copy of “Where the Sidewalk Ends”, inscribed on the front free endpaper, “For Mariane (Adult) With Love / Shel Silverstein”. New York: Harper & Row, 1974, later printing. Spanning 166 pages, “Where the Sidewalk Ends” features dozens of fanciful poems written and illustrated by Silverstein, and is established as one of the enduring children’s books of the 20th century. Book measures 7″ x 9″ in dust jacket showing $9.95 price. Light shelf wear and toning along top edge of jacket, very good condition. Bump to covers of book at bottom edge, and light foxing to endpapers, else near fine. Sold for $810.

Silverstein draws a wonderful full-page illustration of a tree forming the name “Terri” to front paste-down and front free endpaper and boldly signs, “For Terri / With Love / Shel Silverstein”. Harper Collins: 1964. One of Silverstein’s best known books, “The Giving Tree” has been translated into over 30 languages. Includes original dustjacket, not price clipped. Book measures 7.25″ x 9″ and is in fine condition. Sold for $1,903.
Inscribed Copy of “A Light in the Attic” by Shel Silverstein — With Hand-Drawn Sketch
Inscribed copy of “A Light in the Attic: Poems and Drawings by Shel Silverstein” complete with lovely hand-drawn sketch. Harper Collins: 1981. Later printing. Silverstein draws a full-page illustration of a hand holding the letter “S” for “Simon” to front free endpaper and boldly signs, “with Love – Shel.” Accompanied by dustjacket, not price clipped. Volume shows shelf wear and slight soiling near sketch. Overall, a rarity in very good condition. Sold for $1,200.
