Glossy photo on fiber-based paper shows appropriate Kodak watermark on verso, “This Paper Manufactured by Kodak”. Kodak segued to this watermark from “A Kodak Paper” in 1972, before the Apollo 17 launch date in December 1972. Photo measures 10″ x 8″. Minor toning, overall near fine condition. Sold for $810.

“We Seven” Book, With 40 Signatures by 32 of America’s Astronauts Including Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Mike Collins, Ed White, Gus Grissom, Roger Chaffee, Deke Slayton, Etc. — With Zarelli COAs

Incredible collection of 40 signatures by the pioneers of the NASA space program, with 38 signatures within a first printing of “We Seven” and two additional signatures of Deke Slayton and Walter Cunningham signed on their business cards taped inside the book. The original Mercury 7 sign on their photo within the book, and the other men sign the front free endpaper. In alphabetical order, signatures include: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Alan L. Bean, Frank Borman, Vance Brand, Scott Carpenter (signs twice), Roger B. Chaffee, Michael Collins, Charles Conrad Jr., Gordon Cooper (signs twice), Walter Cunningham (signs twice), Donn Eisele, Joe Engle, Ron Evans, John Glenn (signs twice), Dick Gordon, Gus Grissom (signs twice), Joe Kerwin, Don Lind, James Lovell, Ken Mattingly, Bill Pogue, Wally Schirra (signs twice), Rusty Schweickart, Dave Scott, Alan B. Shepard Jr. (signs twice), Deke Slayton (signs twice), Tom Stafford, Paul Weitz, Ed White, Al Worden and John Young. This copy of “We Seven” is a first printing, published in New York by Simon & Schuster, 1962 in its original dust jacket. Blind embossed private library stamp to title page, showing ownership of Wallace A. Johnson, a NASA Apollo test pilot, who acquired the autographs. Dust jacket is worn, overall in good condition. Book itself shows only minor shelf wear, in very good plus condition. With two COAs from Steve Zarelli Space Authentication, one for the Mercury 7 signed photo page, and one for the signature page including signed business cards. Sold for $21,000.

One of the most desirable NASA photos, the red number ”Visor” photo, with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on otherwise blank verso. Photo shows Buzz Aldrin standing on the lunar surface, with the reflection of Neil Armstrong in his visor, number AS11-40-5903. Chromogenic glossy fiber-based print measures 10” x 8”. Lot of 20 NASA photos from the Apollo 11, 12, Gemini 4 and 6A missions, including 18 ”red number” photos and one ”blue number” photo. Collection includes the iconic ”footprint” photo from Apollo 11, showing Buzz Aldrin’s singular bootprint in the lunar soil, as well as a view of Earth from Apollo 11. Other photos include Edward White conducting the first spacewalk, and the ”blue glow” around Alan Bean from Apollo 12. 3) ”Red number” photo AS12-47-6896 with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, showing Charles Conrad Jr. holding up the corner of the U.S. flag. Fading to red number, small abrasion to upper right corner and light particle adhesion. Very good condition.

4) ”Red number” photo AS12-46-6826 with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, showing Alan Bean deploying the ALSEP during the first EVA. This is one of the photos that oddly casts a blue glow around Bean, fueling internet conspiracy theories. Small bend to lower right corner, faint edgewear and very light particle adhesion. Very good plus condition.

5-7) Three ”red number” photos, with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, all showing Pete Conrad descending the latter of the Lunar Module during the first EVA. Photos are numbered AS12-46-6715, AS12-46-6716 and AS12-46-6717. Light particle adhesion (more so to 6717) and edgewear, else near fine.

8) ”Red number” photo AS12-47-6912 with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, showing Alan Bean conducting a lunar experiment. Faint particle adhesion and edgewear, overall near fine.

9-13) Five ”red number” photos, with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, all taken near the Lunar Module during the first EVA. Photos are numbered AS12-47-6961, AS12-46-6779, AS12-47-6981, AS12-46-6785, AS12-47-6989. Light particular adhesion, or wear to margin or edges. Near fine condition.

14) Lift-off ”blue number” photo S-65-29635 with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso. Light creasing, overall in very good condition.

15-17) Three ”red number” photos, with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, all showing Edward White conducting the very first ”spacewalk” EVA, which lasted 23 minutes outside the spacecraft. Photos are numbered S-65-30430, S-65-30431 and S-65-30432. Minor scuffing and edgewear, in very good plus condition.

18-20) Three photos, two of them ”red number” photos, all with ”A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso, showing the Gemini 7 spacecraft, taken from Gemini 6 during rendezvous. Apollo 11 Crew Signed 20” x 16” Lithograph — Bold, Uninscribed Signatures by All Three

Apollo 11 crew signed lithograph measuring 20” x 16”, with bold, uninscribed autographs by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin. Photograph shows Buzz Aldrin, as captured by Neil Armstrong, placing the lunar seismometer on the moon’s surface. With ”First Man on the Moon” stamp and postal cancellations dated 20 July 1969, the day of the moon landing, and 9 September 1969, the day the stamp was issued. Very minute foxing on margin and a small bit of edgewear, overall in very good to near fine condition. One of the largest, finest Apollo 11 crew signed photos available. Sold for $10,250.

Apollo 1 crew-signed photo measuring 20” x 16”, showing Edward White spacewalking during the Gemini 4 mission. The three astronauts of the fallen Apollo 1 mission provide extraordinarily large autographs in this colorful photo, measuring approximately 6” x 3.5” as a group. Each man signs in black felt-tip, ”Edward H. White II”, ”Roger B. Chaffee” and ”Gus Grissom”. Slight buckling and wear to photo, with small abrasions and chipping to edges, able to be framed out. Apollo 1 Signed 8” x 10” Photo by Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee. 

Photo signed by the three Apollo 1 astronauts, ”Ed White”, ”Gus Grissom” and ”Roger Chaffee”. All three men would die in the fire on 27 January 1967 shortly before the mission was to launch. Glossy photo measures 8” x 10”, showing them standing in front of the Command Module. A few shallow creases and light fading to photo, otherwise near fine with bold signatures in black felt tip. From the estate of Daniel Lawrence, Sr., part of the Apollo 1 simulation team. Sold for $5,000.

The celebrated Mercury 7 astronauts sign a semi-matte photograph of themselves posing in front of their aircraft. Scott Carpenter, Gordon Cooper, Virgil Gus Grissom, John Glenn, Wally Schirra, Alan Shepard and Deke Slayton all sign as the first Americans in space. An inscription by an unknown hand dedicates the picture ”To Clark Boswell / with Best wishes”. Measures 10” x 8”. Cooper’s signature is faded; sunning and a minor crease. Very good condition. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin signed Apollo 11 red number photo, with “A Kodak Paper” watermark and NASA press release on verso, with additional autopen signature of Michael Collins. With inscription by Armstrong, “To Laurie – Best Wishes”. Desirable crew portrait shows the three astronauts in their white spacesuits, with photo number S-69-31379 in red at upper left. Glossy photo measures 10″ x 8″. Light creasing, tape to verso along edges, and some discoloration at upper corners. Very good condition. With PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $2,940.

Large Format NASA Chromogenic Photograph of the “Blue Marble” — Measures 20″ x 16″

Rare large format NASA chromogenic photograph from the Apollo 17 mission of the “Blue Marble”, one of the most desirable photos from the Apollo space program. Half-glossy resin-coated photo measures 20″ x 16″, mounted to mat board measuring 24″ x 20″. Faint foxing to mat, overall in very good condition. Very rare in large format. Sold for $2,200.

Vintage NASA photo of Buzz Aldrin on Gemini 12, dubbed the “First Selfie in Space”. 8″ x 10″ chromogenic glossy photo bears red NASA photo number to margin, “S-66-62926”, printed on fiber-based paper with “A Kodak Paper” watermark on verso. Light bend at corner and tape on verso, otherwise near fine condition. Sold for $1,180.
