Sell Your Ron Cobb Art
Ron Cobb (born 1937) is an American cartoonist, artist, writer, film designer, and film director. He lives in Sydney, Australia. Among other projects, Cobb designed the cover for Jefferson Airplane’s 1967 album, After Bathing at Baxter’s. He also contributed design work for the cult film, Dark Star (1973) (he drew the original design for the exterior of the Dark Star spaceship on a Pancake House napkin). His cartoons from the 1960s and 1970s are collected in RCD-25 (1967) and Mah Fellow Americans (1968) (both Sawyer Press), and Raw Sewage (1971) and My Fellow Americans (1971) (both Price Stern and Sloan). None of these volumes remains in print.

Ray Bradbury Personally Owned Artwork by Ron Cobb, the Underground Comic Artist
Ray Bradbury personally owned art by Ron Cobb, foremost underground comic artist of the 1960’s and 1970’s. Original piece signed ”R. Cobb” is a mixed media composition in black and sepia tones depicting a tall rock formation in the foreground on the right, with a pair of buildings or ship-like structures on the horizon under two moons. Dates to circa 1975. Mounted, matted attractively and framed to an overall size of 17.25” x 14.75”. Upon the mat is written ”NFS”, possibly to mean Not For Sale. Near fine. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate. Sold for $938.

Original Large Painted Illustration Drawn by Comic Book Artist Bill Edwards
Unique large illustration painted by comic book artist Bill Edwards. Well known for his risque drawings, Edwards’ illustrations were featured in numerous men’s adventure magazines of the 1950’s and 60’s. This illustration depicts a concerned man comforting a shapely woman as a scene of danger unfolds behind them. Unique is the use of oil paint in addition to the traditional pencil and ink normally used for a drawing of this type. The drawing contains the Artist’s initials painted in white in the upper left hand corner. Measures 21.75” x 15”. Some tape marks around the edges, none of which affect the integrity of the painting itself. Near fine. Sold for $750.
Unique large illustration drawn by comic book artist Bill Edwards for his story ”A Case of Charity” from the early 1960’s. Well known for his risque drawings of women, Edwards’ illustrations were featured in numerous men’s adventure magazines of the 1950’s and 60’s. This illustration depicts a shapely woman attempting to save a man from a murderous tractor driver, and contains the title ”Case of Charity” written in pencil on a protective cover. Drawn on cardboard, drawing contains a removable piece of transparency paper taped over the front, which uniquely allows it to be viewed from both color and black and white perspectives. Measures 22” x 25”. Near fine. Sold for $750.
