Roger Maris Autograph Sold
Roger Maris is best-remembered for hitting 61 single season home runs of the 1961 baseball season, which surpassed Babe Ruth’s 1927 record. Maris’s fellow Yankee teammate, Mickey Mantle, was attempting to beat Ruth’s record alongside Maris but suffered a hip injury during the season. These events of the 1961 season are depicted in the 2001 film 61* directed by Billy Crystal. Roger Maris has a museum in North Dakota dedicated to his career and life and Monument Park has a plaque in his name.

Roger Maris Signed Bat 1961 — With JSA LOA
Roger Maris signed baseball bat. Adirondack Northern White Ash bat signed in blue, steel-tip fountain pen on barrel, “To George Hutter / Good Luck / Roger Maris 9/26/61.” Measures 35″. Accompanied by JSA Letter of Authenticity. Very good condition. Sold for $3,336.
