Attractive conceptual drawing created for the 2000 renovation of the famous Disneyland ride, ”Pirates of the Caribbean”. Originally opened in 1967, the ride had a major overhaul in 2006, as characters from the ”Pirates of the Caribbean” film series began to be incorporated into the ride. Drawing is done in ink on rice paper by artist Michael Hobson and depicts a pirate ship at center, surrounded by pirates pillaging a town on one side and Disneyland park-goers filling up ships for the ride on the other. Measures 17” x 14”. Tape residue to edges, else near fine. Sold for $625.
Photo book used by production from Walt Disney Pictures’ hit ”Pirates of the Caribbean”. Album is from the make-up department and features 74 different photos of the principal cast in full pirate costume and make-up, including Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, Zoe Saldana and others. Accompanied by 11 snapshots taken behind the scenes. Unpublished glossy photos measure 4” x 6”, with a minority measuring 8” x 10”. Near fine. Provenance from Screen Used. Sold for $416.
”Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” Screen Used Magnifying Glass Prop, Used to Examine The All-Important Treasure Map — Fine
Magnifying glass prop used onscreen in ”Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” magnifying glass. Desktop magnifier used in conjunction with the treasure map features a swiveling axis made of brass. Measures 11.75” in overall height. Lens measures 5” in diameter. Fine. Beautifully displayed in a case on a red cloth bed with Pirates movie poster background. Provenance from the Estate of Gerry Moss; Heritage Music & Entertainment Auction, July 2011, lot 46111. Sold for $438.
Joan Crawford’s hero dress from her magnum opus, “Mildred Pierce”. Joan Crawford currently ranks in the American Film Institute’s top ten actresses in the history of cinema. Polka-dot dress is worn by Crawford in the film’s promotional posters, in a still captured from the scene in the beginning of the film when she goes on a date, set at the Malibu beach house of her scheming beau Monte Beragon. Rayon dress, originally white, has since been dyed to a flesh tone color, with polka dots in a darker nude shade. Design features a slightly A-line cut shirt, long sleeves, pleated bodice and square neckline flanked by a simple bow on either side. A Warner Bros. Pictures label is sewn into the placket and has a hand note, “B – 2nd Dress / 18905-638”. Written inside the top in black felt tip is the note, “TBS / 209”. Dress fastens up the back and at the waistline with alternating snaps and hook-and-eye closures, also found at the cuffs. Discreet side zipper is placed over the hip. Likely altered for use in a later Warner Brothers film, dress measures 17.75″ from underarm to underarm, with 21″ sleeve and a petite 11″ across the waist. Original self-belt is absent; dress is accompanied by later grosgrain belt in brown with a cream stripe through the center. Scattered pinholes and stray threads, else near fine. A stunning piece worn by Crawford in her triumphant comeback role, where she delivered what is considered one of the Best Actress performances of all time. Provenance from Warner Brothers. Sold for $27,500.
Shirley Temple Heidi Costume Screen-Worn Dutch-Inspired Outfit From the 1937 Film
Shirley Temple Heidi costume, screen worn outfit, worn as the namesake in the 1937 film. Wonderful 4 piece outfit contains dress, undergarment, hat and clogs. (1) Gorgeously detailed Dutch-inspired dress has green velvet top with short puffed sleeves, red edging and 3 embroidered yellow flowers. Sleeves also have embroidered flowers and white lace which matches collar. Peppermint-colored skirt has white and green lace apron in front and a green waist belt which ties in back. Measures 12″ around the shoulders, 28″ long. Some wear to collar, two tiny spots on apron. (2) White cotton undergarment to wear under dress with floral hem. Measures 11.5″ under arms. Some spots on skirt. (3) Tan Dutch hat with decorative trim and traditional upturned ear flaps. Small stain on top. (4) Cream-colored wooden clogs with square-pointed toes and lambswool lining. Wear to wood and lining. Measure 9.5″. Comes with two vintage photographs of Shirley wearing the full outfit. Dress in very good condition, undergarment in very good condition, hat in very good condition, clogs in good condition. With a COA signed by the Shirley Temple estate. Sold for $25,000.
Beyonce’s Custom Wetsuit Costume From ”Austin Powers in Goldmember” — With Wardrobe Tag
Beyonce wetsuit from her role in ”Austin Powers in Goldmember”. The pop singer stars in the Mike Myers comedy as Foxxy Cleopatra. Custom black neoprene wetsuit with yellow striping has no label and features a little fox icon in yellow print on the left breast. Measures 12.5” across the chest with a 28” inseam and 19.5” sleeve. In near fine condition. With partially printed wardrobe department tag rubber stamped, ”Austin Powers 3” and citing, ”Actor Beyonce Knowles / Character Foxxy / Scene 93 / Set Int. Dr. Evil’s Sub / Change #9 / Scuba”. Sold for $15,625.

Jay Chou costume from “The Green Hornet”, the 2011 remake by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Chou stars as Kato, sidekick to Rogen’s Britt Reid and superhero alter ego The Green Hornet. Ensemble comprises: (1) jacket in charcoal grey and black herringbone lined in silver silk with mandarin collar in two-tone white and charcoal. Measures 18″ across the chest with 17.5″ sleeve, (2) black long-sleeved custom shirt with white mandarin collar by Anto Beverly Hills with the actor’s initials JC and the date September 2009 embroidered on the label, and Jay’s name handwritten inside. Measurements match those of the jacket, (3)black rubber mask that hooks around the ears, (4) peaked cap style hat in charcoal grey herringbone with black leather bill and band. Near fine overall.
