Peter Deuel Autograph Sold at Auction

Peter Deuel was an actor perhaps known best for his role in Alias Smith and Jones. His humble beginnings in acting began in high school where he was a National Thespians Society member. He attended university as an English major, but his father convinced him to study theater professionally once he saw him perform in a school play during his sophomore year. Deuel then studied theater from 1959-1961 at New York’s American Theater Wing school. After studying theater, Deuel found work in New York City in off-broadway shows, but within two years moved to Hollywood where he was first cast in guest roles and found success starring in the comedy show “Gidget” in 1965-1966. His other credits include television show Love on a Rooftop, and films The Hell with Heroes, Generation and Cannon for Cordoba.

Scarce Peter Deuel 8″ x 10″ Signed Photo

Very rare signed photo of actor Peter Deuel, known as a Hollywood rising star in “Gidget” and “Alias Smith and Jones,” struck down at the age of 31 by his own hand. 8″ x 10″ matte photo is signed, “Dear Elizabeth, Be Happy! Peter Deuel” in black ink. Deuel uncharacteristically signed this photo, as the handful of other autographs that have come to market have been signed paper. In very good condition. Sold for $1,470.
