Original “Final” issue Flight Plan for Apollo 17, the last of the lunar landing missions. Dated 23 October 1972, plan runs over 400pp. with hundreds of charts, illustrations and fold-out schematics. Measures 8″ x 10.5″. Previous owner’s name in pencil on front pale gray cover. Light wear, overall near fine. Sold for $1,300.

Final Apollo 11 Flight Plan Signed by Michael Collins, AS-506/CSM-107/LM-5. Houston: NASA/MSC Flight Planning Branch, 1 July 1969

Michael Collins signed final edition, issued before the launch on 16 July 1969 from the Kennedy Space Center, and used by Apollo 11 flight controllers and support personnel, including the 135-page section on flying to the Moon and returning to Earth. Over 320 numbered pages; 8′ x 10.5″ in the original orange card stock covers. Autograph obtained at Spacefest 2019. Sold for $14,954.

Michael Collins Signed Original Plan for Apollo 11 Lunar Surface Activity

“Apollo 11 Lunar Surface Operations Plan” signed by the late Michael Collins, Apollo 11 astronaut. Original plan from 27 June 1969 is signed by Collins on the cover in blue felt-tip, “Michael Collins / Apollo XI”. Measures 8″ x 10.5″ and runs 184pp., with several fold-out diagrams. Light wear and toning, overall very good condition. Signature obtained at 2019 Spacefest. Sold for $13,650.

Flown Apollo 9 TPI Appendix Signed by James McDivitt — From McDivitt’s Personal Collection

Apollo 9 flown TPI Appendix, from the personal collection of James McDivitt and signed by him. In green felt-tip, McDivitt signs the front cover, “FLOWN ON APOLLO 9 / Jim McDivitt”. This TPI (Transfer Phase Initiation) Appendix was not used, as all normal procedures operated during the mission, as noted on McDivitt’s accompanying signed COA, which also states, “This TPI Appendix…was flown in Earth orbit aboard Apollo 9, 3-13 March 1969, and is from my personal collection…A handwritten note to Rusty Schweickart with Post-Rendezvous LM Torquing data is taped inside the back cover and signed by Gerry Griffin. I have signed and endorsed the front…[signed] Jim McDivitt”. McDivitt also writes “Not needed! / Used Normal With All Systems, OK.” on front cover. Comprised of 16 sheets plus back cover, measuring approximately 8″ x 10.5″, secured by three rings. Light wear, in very good condition. Sold for $13,125.

Michael Collins Signed Copy of the Apollo 11 Flight Plan

Michael Collins signed copy of the Apollo 11 flight plan, signed on the orange cover, “Michael Collins / Apollo XI”. Flight plan is a contemporary copy, and measures 8.5″ x 11″. Near fine condition. Signature obtained at Spacefest 2019. Sold for $5,625.

Apollo 11 Operations Handbook for the Lunar Module Eagle — The First Report Dated 1 August 1968 With No Subsequent Change Dates Listed

Very rare first edition Apollo 11 Operations Handbook for the Lunar Module 5 Eagle, dated 1 August 1968 with no subsequent change dates listed, no change notice on the title page, and listed as an Original issue. Handbook is Volume I, Subsystems Data, running 846pp, with hundreds of diagrams, fold-out charts, schematics and nearly every aspect of the Eagle’s operation. Published by Grumman Aircraft, and housed in a blue 3-riing System Development Corporation binder measuring 10.5″ x 11.75″. With stamp on title page indicating copy belonged to J.L. Nevins; James L. Nevins was Division Director for Mission Development: Display and Human Factors for the Apollo program under Director D.G. Hoag. Some pages detached from binder, and light wear and toning, overall in very good condition. Sold for $4,600.

Walt Cunningham Signed Copy of the Apollo 7 Flight Plan — Also With His Handwritten Reflections on the Mission “…Apollo 7 was our first step to the Moon…”

Walt Cunningham signed copy of the Apollo 7 flight plan, with his handwritten reflections on the mission that started the Apollo program. Cunningham writes in black felt-tip on the cover, “Apollo 7 was the most ambitious first flight undertaken. John Glenn’s first Mercury mission had lasted less than five hours and the first Gemini flight did no better. Apollo 7 was to be our second longest space mission ever. Apollo 7 was our first step to the Moon. Walt Cunningham / Apollo 7″. Flight plan is a contemporary copy, and measures 8.5″ x 11”. Near fine condition. Sold for $2,310.

Buzz Aldrin Signed Apollo 11 Flight Plan

Buzz Aldrin signed Apollo 11 flight plan, signed on the orange cover, “Buzz Aldrin” in black felt-tip. Complete unbound flight plan is a modern copy, and measures 8.5″ x 11″, and almost 1″ wide. Near fine condition. Sold for $1,000.

Jack Swigert’s Own Apollo 17 Flown Robbins Medal, Serial Number 41

Apollo 17 Robbins medal, serial number 41. Sterling silver medal commemorates Apollo 17 as the most recent lunar landing conducted by NASA to date. The mission launched 7 December 1972 and returned safely twelve days later. Pictorial obverse is cast with mission insignia, featuring stylized design elements of the U.S. flag and an eagle, alongside a bust in profile of Greek god Apollo. Figures are set against a detailed space ground featuring the moon and ringed planets. Scene is circumscribed by title, ”Apollo XVII / Cernan-Evans-Schmitt”. Reverse reads, ”Launch / Dec. 6, 1972 / Taurus-Littrow / Dec. 11, 1972 / Entry / Dec. 19, 1972”, circumscribed, ”America – Challenger / Apollo XVII The Beginning”. Coin measures 1.25” and is made of sterling silver, housed in its original ”Robbins Company” plastic box with an ”41” sticker on the bottom. Fine. With an LOA from Apollo 13 astronaut Jack Swigert’s sister. Sold for $56,250.

United States Flag Flown to the Moon on the Apollo 17 Mission

U.S. flag flown to the moon on the Apollo 17 mission in December 1972. Flag is affixed to a NASA certificate to NASA engineer Donald E. Holkan reading, ”This flag was carried to the Moon aboard the spaceship America / Apollo XVII December 7-19, 1972”. Flag measures 5.75” x 4.25” and certificate measures 13” x 10.125”. Overall in very good condition with light toning. Rare U.S. flag from America’s last lunar mission. Sold for $4,576.

U.S. Flag Flown to the Moon and Carried to the Lunar Surface During the Apollo 17 Mission

American flag flown to the moon and carried to the lunar surface during Apollo 17, the last U.S. lunar mission. Flag measures 5.5” x 4”, affixed to a presentation certificate which reads ”This flag was carried to the Taurus-Littrow Valley of the Moon-December 1972”. Flag and certificate were presented to William F. Reveley for his ”Dedicated and Exceptional Service and Contributions to the Success of the Apollo Lunar Program”. 14” x 11” certificate is lightly toned with a few nicks, mostly confined to margins. Overall in very good condition. Sold for $4,028.

U.S. Flag Flown to the Moon on the Apollo 17 Mission

American flag flown to the moon on Apollo 17, the last U.S. lunar mission. Flag measures 5.75” x 4”, affixed to a presentation certificate which reads ”This flag was carried to the Taurus-Littrow valley of the moon-December 1972”. Flag and certificate were given to Mrs. Betty Brendle, whose husband, Harmon L. Brendle, worked in the Apollo Spacecraft Program Office. Certificate measures 14” x 11”. Light toning to certificate, some embossed lettering worn off, and small snag to flag. Overall in very good condition. Accompanied by the letter from NASA to Betty Brendle, informing her of the gift. Sold for $3,545.

U.S. Flag Flown to the Moon on the Apollo 17 Mission

American flag flown to the moon on Apollo 17, the last U.S. lunar mission. Flag measures 5.75” x 4”, affixed to a presentation certificate which reads ”This flag was carried to the Moon aboard the spaceship America / Apollo XVII December 7-19, 1972”. Flag and certificate were presented to George Abbott ”For his exemplary service on the Apollo, Skylab, ASTP, and Shuttle Programs.” 14” x 11” certificate is partially affixed to board, and some glue showthrough on flag. Overall in very good condition. Sold for $3,125.

Apollo 17 U.S. Flag Flown Around the Moon

United States flag flown around the moon on Apollo 17 during the historic 1972 night mission. Flag is mounted to an official NASA certificate reading: “Presented in Appreciation of your role in the success of the Apollo Program. This flag was carried around the moon by the Apollo 17 Astronauts December 10-14, 1972.” Signed “Kurt H. Debus” by the famous Director of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, who was brought to the U.S. from Germany under “Operation Paperclip”. Certificate and flag were presented to Frank G. Bryan, who worked in Launch Vehicle Operations at Kennedy Space Center. Accompanied by 1 May 1975 letter sent to Bryan from NASA Director Lee R. Scherer who states, “A limited number of souvenir flags were carried around the Moon by the Apollo 17 astronauts. I have been given the privilege of distributing these flags to those individuals whose efforts contributed significantly to the overwhelming success of the Apollo Program.” United States flag measures 5.5″ x 4″, mounted to the NASA certificate and in original frame as presented by NASA measuring 12″ x 15″. Very light foxing to certificate and chipping to frame; certificate is bright and near fine. Sold for $2,928.

United States Flag Flown to the Moon on the Apollo 17 Mission

U.S. flag flown to the moon on the Apollo 17 mission in December 1972. Flag is affixed to a NASA certificate to Richard Benson, Jr. reading, ”This flag was carried to the Moon aboard the spaceship America Apollo XVII December 7-19, 1972”. Flag measures 5.75” x 4.25” and certificate measures 14” x 11”. Certificate is mounted to board. Overall in very good condition with some toning to certificate and chipping along top. Flag is near fine. Rare U.S. flag from America’s last lunar mission. Sold for $2,200.

Large Format NASA Chromogenic Photograph of the “Blue Marble” — Measures 20″ x 16″

Rare large format NASA chromogenic photograph from the Apollo 17 mission of the “Blue Marble”, one of the most desirable photos from the Apollo space program. Half-glossy resin-coated photo measures 20″ x 16″, mounted to mat board measuring 24″ x 20″. Faint foxing to mat, overall in very good condition. Very rare in large format. Sold for $2,200.

Apollo 17 Red Number NASA Photo Showing a Crescent Earthrise Over the Moon — With 1972 Kodak Watermark on Verso

Stunning NASA red number photo, taken during the Apollo 17 mission, showing a crescent Earthrise over the pockmarked lunar surface. With NASA red number at upper left, “S17-152-23274”. Glossy photo on fiber-based paper shows appropriate Kodak watermark on verso, “This Paper Manufactured by Kodak”. Kodak segued to this watermark from “A Kodak Paper” in 1972, before the Apollo 17 launch date in December 1972. Photo measures 10″ x 8″. Minor toning, overall near fine condition. Sold for $810.
