First Edition, First Printing of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Fellowship of the Ring” — The First & Scarcest Volume in Tolkien’s Trilogy
Extraordinary first edition, first printing copy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Fellowship of the Ring,” his first in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the most difficult to acquire as a first printing. Published by George Allen & Unwin: London: 1954. Volume is in very good condition, somewhat better than other first edition copies. Boards and top edge have retained the publisher’s deep red color, with only light discoloration to the bottom of the spine and corner of front board. Some toning to endpapers and front hinge starting ever so slightly. Fold-out map present and in fine condition. Enfolded in a facsimile first edition dustjacket, book measures 6″ x 9″ and runs 423 pages. Sold for $2,756.

Wardrobe made for Leonardo DiCaprio’s character the 1997 epic “Titanic”. Two-piece ensemble comprises (1) an oversize putty color long-sleeved cotton shirt with a bib detail of tan striped fabric. Measures 24″ across the chest. Light pilling, else near fine. (2) bronze corduroy trousers made by Dominic Gherardi, custom tailor for the movie, labeled “Leonardo DiC / Jack #2”. Trousers close with a button fly and waistband features buttons for suspenders. “Leonardo” label has detached from tailor’s label, else near fine. Costume has the original Fox Studio hang tags. Also accompanied by wardrobe department’s tag. Sold for $23,116.

Superman Hero Costume Worn by Christopher Reeve in the 1978 Superman Film
Very rare Superman “muscle tunic” worn by Christopher Reeve during filming of “Superman: The Movie”, the very first film of the beloved Christopher Reeve franchise, released in 1978. Tunic used in the flight scenes features two stitched holes on the sides, used to attach the flying harness. Four snaps at top are for attaching the cape. Signature blue tunic is made complete with Superman’s large emblematic gold and red “S” sewn onto the front. The original “Bermans & Nathans / 40 Camden St. / London N.W. 1” tag is still intact on the tunic’s inner back collar, next to the zipper, with the label reading in type: “CHRISTOPHER REEVE / 12312 WITH MUSCLES / SUPERMAN”. Made of special nylon fabric, used for its stretch and ability to retain its original shape. Without being stretched, tunic measures 18″ across the chest and 29″ long. A few small holes, otherwise in near fine condition. With Prop Store COA. Sold for $20,250.
The stark white, unnerving helmet worn by Darth Vader’s Stormtroopers, signed by the cast of ”Star Wars” and ”The Empire Strikes Back”, with 13 signatures in total. Helmet is signed by Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), the late Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine), David Prowse (Darth Vader), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), Tim Rose (Admiral Ackbar), Mike Quinn (Nien Nunb), Mark Dodson (Salacious Crumb) and David Barclay (Yoda and Jabba puppeteer), many of whom add their character’s name along with their signature.
