Sell Your Li Hongzhang Autograph

Li Hongzhang, Marquess Suyi (Chinese: 李鴻章; also romanised as Li Hung-chang; 15 February 1823 – 7 November 1901) was a Chinese politician, general and diplomat of the late Qing dynasty. He quelled several major rebellions and served in important positions in the Qing imperial court, including the Viceroy of Zhili, Huguang and Liangguang.

Sun Yat-sen Signed First Edition of His Book ”The International Development of China”Scarce signed copy of Sun Yat-sen’s book, ”The International Development of China”, boldly inscribed in fountain pen by the Chinese leader on the front free endpaper, ”Mr. H.S. Quigley / Sun Yat-sen”. New York and London: G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 1922 first English edition. Book is inscribed to Harold Scott Quigley, a scholar of Chinese studies who acquired the autograph in Shanghai in 1923, possibly during the Sun-Joffe Agreement, which was held in Shanghai in January 1923. In original publisher’s binding, book contains all maps, including the folding map housed in the rear pastedown pocket. Book measures 5.675” x 8.25” and runs 265pp. Text block has pulled away from backstrip at page 49. Portrait and biography of Sun, taken from jacket, have been affixed to front pastedown and free endpaper, underneath signature. Some pencil erasure at bottom of signature page. Chip to top of backstrip, and paper clip to rear endpaper. Overall in very good condition. An important book authored by Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of China, and scarce as signed by him. Sold for $17,690.

Sun Yat-sen Autograph on His Cabinet Photograph

Extremely rare cabinet photograph signed by Chinese revolutionary and political leader, Sun Yat-sen. A formal, half-length portrait of the founder of modern China, signed in blue ink on the lower portion of the image. Black and white image measures 3.75″ x 5.5″, mounted to larger board embossed “Wo Shing, 425 Nanking Road, Shanghai.” Signed photographs of Sun Yat-sen are exceedingly rare. In very fine condition. A stunning piece.   Sold for $8,652.

Yuan Shikai Document Signed — The First Formal President of the Republic of China

Large document signed by Yuan Shikai, the first formal President of the Republic of China following the collapse of the Qing dynasty in 1912. Large formal document with calligraphic writing measures 21” x 15”. Separation starting at top, vertical fold, and light soiling to document, which has a light, flexible coating, perhaps removable (verso of document has coating peeling away at fold). Overall very good condition. Sold for $3,750.

Ho Chi Minh Autograph Letter Signed — Four Months After Being Elected President & Prime Minister of Vietnam Regarding Having Dinner With American Friends 15 Years Before They Would Be His Enemy

Hồ Chí Minh (/hoʊ tʃiː mɪn/; Vietnamese: [hò cǐ mīŋ̟] (listen), Saigon: [hò cǐ mɨ̄n]; Chữ Hán: 胡志明; 19 May 1890 – 2 September 1969), born Nguyễn Sinh Cung, also known as Nguyễn Tất Thành, Nguyễn Ái Quốc, Bác Hồ, or simply Bác (‘Uncle’, pronounced [ʔɓaːk̚˦˥]), was a Vietnamese revolutionary and politician. He served as Prime Minister of North Vietnam from 1945 to 1955 and President from 1945 until his death in 1969. Ideologically a Marxist–Leninist, he served as Chairman and First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Vietnam.

Scarce autograph letter signed by Ho Chi Minh as Prime Minister and President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. On official stationery with the country name in Vietnamese at top. Letter to Captain Simpson Jones, British Liaison Officer, dated 11 May 1946, reads in full, “Dear Sir, 1. Monday evening, I wish to invite you to a family dinner, with a small number of American & Chinese friends. Will you be so good as to postpone your travel until the next day? 2. There will be no difficulty. But I ask you to have your National flag on your DUKW, & kindly slow down your car a little, while passing the guard posts, so that the guards can see your flag. Best friendship! Yours truly, Ho Chi Minh”. Single page letter, written in blue ink, displays the well-educated Minh’s adept knowledge of the English language. Letter measures 5.5″ x 8.25″. File holes to left and a small tear resulting, else very good condition. Sold for $3,617.

Silk 28.5″ x 43″ Photographic Banner of Sun Yat-sen

Sun Yat-sen (/ˈsʌn ˌjætˈsɛn/; born Sun Deming; 12 November 1866 – 12 March 1925) was a Chinese statesman, physician, and political philosopher, who served as the provisional first president of the Republic of China and the first leader of the Kuomintang (Nationalist Party of China). He is called the “Father of the Nation” in the Republic of China, and the “Forerunner of the Revolution” in the People’s Republic of China for his instrumental role in the overthrow of the Qing dynasty during the Xinhai Revolution. Sun is unique among 20th-century Chinese leaders for being widely revered in both mainland China and Taiwan.

Large silk banner featuring a lithographic portrait of China’s founding father Sun Yat-sen, produced in 1925 after his death to commemorate him. Portrait is laid down on the silk background, with black text printed directly on the silk. Banner measures 28.5″ x 43″. Some light soiling and holes, mostly confined to margins. Portrait has a few abrasions. Overall in very good condition, displaying beautifully. Sold for $3,366.
