Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr.; April 16, 1947) is an American former professional basketball player who played 20 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers. During his career as a center, Abdul-Jabbar was a record six-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), a record 19-time NBA All-Star, a 15-time All-NBA selection, and an 11-time NBA All-Defensive Team member. A member of six NBA championship teams as a player and two more as an assistant coach, Abdul-Jabbar twice was voted NBA Finals MVP. He was named to the league’s 35th, 50th and 75th anniversary teams. NBA coach Pat Riley and players Isiah Thomas and Julius Erving called him the greatest basketball player of all time.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Game-Worn Goggles — Worn During the 1980s With the Lakers
Goggles worn by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar while playing with the Lakers. With an LOA by Ken Kragen describing that they were won at a charity auction in the 1980s by Kragen, a well-known music producer who had seats in the 3rd row behind the Lakers bench for 37 years. These goggles, famously worn by Abdul-Jabbar during his games, are composed of clear plastic frames with a black adjustable elastic band to secure them in place and rubber padding on the nose section. Measure approximately 6.25” x 6”, not including elastic band. Some wear from use and with tape securing the black band to the frame. Overall very good condition. Sold for $7,500.

Adidas sneakers personally owned, worn and signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, possibly game-worn with the Lakers. With an LOA by Ken Kragen describing that they were won at a charity auction in the 1980s by Kragen, a well-known music producer who had seats in the 3rd row behind the Lakers bench for 37 years. Navy blue and white Adidas sneakers are approximate size 16, signed on the edge of the right shoe by Abdul-Jabbar. Very worn by Abdul-Jabbar though fully intact. Signature has faded but is still legible. Overall in very good condition. Sold for $1,344.
Kareem Abdul-Jabaar Lew Alcindor Signed HS Yearbook
1965 yearbook from New York catholic high school Power Memorial Academy, signed clearly by senior Lew Alcindor, who of course later renamed himself Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He signs “Lew Alcindor” boldly in blue ink over his senior photo. The yearbook also features seven photos of Alcindor and the basketball team, including action shots that portend his soon-to-be-famous “skyhook.” Additionally, Alcindor’s mom is featured on the Mom’s Club page and there’s a funny caption on page eight under a photo of the principal talking to a teacher on the bleachers. It reads: “‘How about Alcindor Memorial Academy…Huh?'”, alluding to the fact that Alcindor carried his high school team to three straight championships, giving the school an excellent national reputation for basketball. He followed that with three National Championship-winning seasons playing for UCLA and a incredible NBA career during which he became the NBA’s all-time highest scorer. This remarkable piece of early Abdul-Jabbar memorabilia measures 9″ x 12.25″ and runs 172pp. Signed throughout by classmates of the original owner, whose name is written on the front free endpaper. Minimal toning to pages, else fine. Sold for $1,011.

1974-1975 Topps Basketball uncut card sheet totaling 66 cards. The 23″ x 28″ sheet features six rows of 11 cards and includes legendary names such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West, Gail Goodrich, Don Nelson, Jo Jo White, John Havlieck, Pat Riley, Walt Frazier, Oscar Robertson, Bill Bradley, Bob Lanier, Connie Hawkins, Dave Cowens, Doug Collins, George McGinnis, Bill Walton, Calvin Murphy, Bob McAdoo and Nate Archibald. Sheet is stamped “PROOF Aug. 15, 1974.” Near fine. Sold for $1,080.
Lakers piece of basketball court from the Forum, the site of Lakers championships during the 1980s. Piece of court measuring 8” x 11.5” is framed with signatures of Hall of Famers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, Elgin Baylor and Jerry West. Signatures each measure 4.5” x 1.5” and entire frame measures 27” x 22.5”. A few nicks to frame, otherwise near fine. With an LOA from the Lakers. Sold for $808.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame trophy awarded to Chet Walker upon his 7 September 2012 induction. Walker’s niche in the NBA is a distinctive one: the agile forward was named to the first ever all-rookie NBA team and won the 1967 NBA Championship as part of the team widely considered the greatest of all time, the 1967 Philadelphia 76ers. After retiring as an athlete Walker authored an autobiography, “Long Time Coming: A Black Athlete’s Coming-Of-Age in America” and then became a successful producer in Hollywood. Statue features a stylized basketball-textured finial and plaque affixed to the front of the base which reads, “CHET WALKER”. Measures 19.5″ in height with a base diameter of 6.75″. Fine. A substantial tribute to one of the most distinguished players of his era. With an LOA signed by Chet Walker. Sold for $40,954.
