1980 Scoring Leader Magic Johnson PSA 9 with Larry Bird & Dr. J
1980 Topps triple card featuring Larry Bird, Dr. J and Magic Johnson “Scording Leader” Topps card. Rookie year for both Johnson & Bird. Boston Celtics Forward Bird, 76ers “26.9” Man Julius Erving, and Lakers Guard Johnson divide this horizontal card titled “Scoring Leader,” which features three of professional basketball’s all-time greatest scorers. Some mild toning. PSA 9 condition. This card was sold before by us. It is worth up to $25,000 now. We can offer you a $16,000 reserve.
Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird signed game-worn away jersey from his final 1991-92 season on the team. Bird helped lead the team to three NBA championships in his formidable career, which also included 12 All-Star game appearances. Front of green mesh jersey is embroidered in white, ”Celtics / 33” and Bird signs on one of the ‘3’s, ”Larry Bird” in black marker. Front of Jersey also has two official NBA patches, one of which denotes the jersey year as 1991, and a third ”Champion” brand tag denoting the jersey as size 46. Back of jersey is embroidered in white, ”Bird / 33”. With two official COA’s, one from JSA which rates the signature a 9, and a second from Grey Flannel. Near fine condition. Sold for $4,468.
Chet ”The Jet” Walker’s Hall of Fame Trophy — Fine
Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame trophy awarded to Chet Walker upon his 7 September 2012 induction. Walker’s niche in the NBA is a distinctive one: the agile forward was named to the first ever all-rookie NBA team and won the 1967 NBA Championship as part of the team widely considered the greatest of all time, the 1967 Philadelphia 76ers. After retiring as an athlete Walker authored an autobiography, “Long Time Coming: A Black Athlete’s Coming-Of-Age in America” and then became a successful producer in Hollywood. Statue features a stylized basketball-textured finial and plaque affixed to the front of the base which reads, “CHET WALKER”. Measures 19.5″ in height with a base diameter of 6.75″. Fine. A substantial tribute to one of the most distinguished players of his era. With an LOA signed by Chet Walker. Sold for $40,954.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Game-Worn Goggles — Worn During the 1980s With the Lakers
Goggles worn by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar while playing with the Lakers. With an LOA by Ken Kragen describing that they were won at a charity auction in the 1980s by Kragen, a well-known music producer who had seats in the 3rd row behind the Lakers bench for 37 years. These goggles, famously worn by Abdul-Jabbar during his games, are composed of clear plastic frames with a black adjustable elastic band to secure them in place and rubber padding on the nose section. Measure approximately 6.25” x 6”, not including elastic band. Some wear from use and with tape securing the black band to the frame. Overall very good condition. Sold for $7,500.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Signed & Worn Adidas Sneakers
Adidas sneakers personally owned, worn and signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, possibly game-worn with the Lakers. With an LOA by Ken Kragen describing that they were won at a charity auction in the 1980s by Kragen, a well-known music producer who had seats in the 3rd row behind the Lakers bench for 37 years. Navy blue and white Adidas sneakers are approximate size 16, signed on the edge of the right shoe by Abdul-Jabbar. Very worn by Abdul-Jabbar though fully intact. Signature has faded but is still legible. Overall in very good condition. Sold for $1,344.
