Beautiful Raiders 1977, 1981 and 1984 Super Bowl XI, XV and XVIII Championship Rings — Owned by Punter Ray Guy

Three stunning Raiders championship rings owned by Raiders punter Ray Guy. The first is from the Raiders’ 1977 Super Bowl XI win over the Minnesota Vikings. The 1977 Super Bowl was the first championship for the Raiders, who defeated the Vikings 32-14. The gold ring, size 13.25, reads “Oakland Raiders World Champions” on the face and features twenty-eight sparkling diamonds, most set into a football pattern. “14K” engraved upon the inside of the band. Minor damage to one of the diamonds, otherwise fine condition. Guy, the seven time Pro Bowl punter, received the 1981 Super Bowl XV ring when the Raiders beat the Philadelphia Eagles 27-10. It marked the first time a wild-card playoff team won the championship game. The gold ring, size 12.5, reads “Oakland Raiders” on the face and features thirty-five sparkling diamonds, most set into a football pattern (one of the large two center stones replaced with a CZ). Stamping present inside the band, but too worn to read. Fine condition. The Super Bowl XVIII ring represents the Raiders’ 1984 record-setting 38-9 win over the Washington Redskins, 29 points being the largest margin of victory at that time. Guy made an important 27 yard punt during this Super Bowl. The gold ring, size 13, reads “Los Angeles Raiders World Champions” on the face and features twenty-three sparkling diamonds, most set into a pattern of three footballs (one of the smaller stones on the face replaced with a CZ). “14K” stamped inside the ring’s band. Fine condition. All rings are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Ray Guy.  Sold for $96,216.

Vince Lombardi Super Bowl XXVII, XXVIII & XXX Trophies — Given to Dallas Cowboys Linebacker Godfrey Myles

Three Vince Lombardi Super Bowl trophies from Super Bowl XXVII, XXVIII & XXX given to Dallas Cowboys linebacker Godfrey Myles. An almost exact replica of the Vince Lombardi trophy manufactured by Tiffany’s and presented to the winning Super Bowl team, these silver-plated trophies were ordered by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for his players. Since only a few owners have purchased these trophies, beginning with Al Davis of the Oakland Raiders in 1977, they remain notoriously scarce and desirable, with only a handful coming to auction in the past 30 years. Trophies measures approximately 15.5″ high and 7″ deep and weighs 7.6 lbs. Upon the front is engraved, “Vince Lombardi Trophy / Super Bowl / Champions / The Dallas Cowboys” and, on the bottom of a side column, “Godfrey Myles “. Good condition with minor chipping. A stunning display of athletic achievement, from the team that sets the record for most Super Bowl appearances. With Certificates of Authenticity from Godfrey Myles.  Sold for $51,661.

Colts 1st Game Ball Signed from 1947

Signed 1947 game ball from the Colts’ very first game, played 7 September 1947. Signed by 31 members of the original Colts team, ball features the printed seal of the All-America Football Conference and Commissioner J.H. Ingram. Among signatures are head coach Cecil Isbell, as well as quarterback Ernie Case, offensive guard Augie Lio, defensive end Lamar Davis and backers Andy Dudish, John Vardian and Bill Hillenbrad. The Colts defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers 16-7 in that historic first game in Baltimore. In 1946 Robert Rodenburg purchased the bankrupt Miami Seahawks and moved the franchise to Baltimore for the 1947 season. The new owner launched a contest for fans to name the new team. Contestants submitted a team name, explaining their reasons for the choice in 25 words or less. The winner was Charles Wilbur Evans, one of three contestants who submitted “Colts.” Mr. Evans believed the name celebrated Baltimore’s long, proud history in horse racing and, with five letters, would read easily in newsprint. He won and his prize included an AM/FM radio, season tickets, a U.S. savings bond and the team’s first game ball, personally delivered to his home by new owner Rodenburg. The ball remained in Mr. Evans’ family for almost 60 years and was acquired by us from his grandson. Some fading to signatures in black ink, otherwise good condition. One-of-a-kind piece of Baltimore Colts history. Sold for $9,580.
