The following is some music memorabilia we sold:
Fantastic set of signatures by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, signed by all three, Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding. Hendrix inscribes the note, ”Love always to Maribeth / Stay Sweet / to an Electric lady / Jimi Hendrix”, adding two hearts and dating the signature to 16 November 1968. Mitchell additionally signs ”Best Witches / Mitch *” and Redding signs, ”love / Noel Redding xxx”. Signatures in pencil are on a piece of ”In flight…American Airlines” stationery, where the recipient, Maribeth, was a stewardess on the band’s flight that day. They were traveling to Cincinnati, Ohio where they were performing that night. Paper measures 7.25” x 10”. Folds and some creasing, and a bit of chipping to right side, otherwise near fine condition. With a COA from Roger Epperson for all three signatures. Sold for $8,236.
Jimi Hendrix Autograph With His Revolutionary Band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience — With PSA/DNA COA
Incredible scarce and coveted signatures by the short-lived through highly influential rock band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Vintage ink signatures, “Love always, Jimi Hendrix autograph [with hand-drawn heart]”, “Noel Redding” and “Love, Mitch” on an off-white 3.5″ x 5.25″ lightly-lined slip. In very good condition, with partial separation and tear to central horizontal fold, scattered creasing and wrinkling, edge tears, and some mild toning. Despite the flaws, all three signatures are crisp, large and completely legible, with a Jimi Hendrix autograph perched above those of his bandmates. Accompanied by PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $3,670.

Jimi Hendrix autograph on a 1967 Track Records promotional postcard for ”The Jimi Hendrix Experience” LP ”Are You Experienced.” The superstar rock guitarist signs, ”Jimi Hendrix”. The verso of the 4” x 6” card features a photo of Hendrix with Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding, the three musicians who made up the psychedelic rock band. With Roger Epperson/REAL COA. Jimi Hendrix Personally Owned & Worn Scarf — With Sotheby’s Provenance
Psychedelic sheer scarf personally owned and worn by Jimi Hendrix. The blue, red and pink scarf was worn by Hendrix as a sash and belt for several years, as stated in the LOA from Sharon Lawrence, his friend and biographer . Measures 70″ x 9.5″. Comes with photos and description from original Sotheby’s auction held in 1997. Minor wrinkling, otherwise near fine condition. Sold for $2,460.

Eddie Van Halen personally designed (hand-striped) custom guitar, owned and played onstage by Eddie at the 16 February 2008 show in Jacksonville, Florida. Charvel guitar is signed by Eddie in silver marker, with the Jacksonville concert date also written by him as well as ”Van Halen ’08”. In custom EVH (Eddie Van Halen) Charvel guitar case, and with COA signed by Eddie Van Halen showing serial number of 173, matching EVH plate on guitar. Near fine condition. A fantastic rock collectible personally designed, played and signed by one of the greatest guitar players of all time. Sold for $37,500.
David Crosby’s Own Gibson ES-335 Guitar — From His Days in “The Byrds”
David Crosby’s personally owned and played Gibson guitar, used by Crosby in “The Byrds,” one of the most influential bands of the 1960’s. Crosby’s role in “The Byrds” from the iconic group’s formation in 1964 until his departure in 1967 garnered him his first of two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Guitar is the widely recognized Gibson ES-335, with a Bigsby Vibrato tailpiece tremolo. Dating to 1958, this model was the first electric guitar to introduce the semi-hollow body design. Neck is one-piece mahogany beneath a rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl inlays. Measures 16.5″ wide, 20″ long, and 1.75″ deep. Housed in a black hardshell case lined in orange velvet. Scattered nicks and bumping to top of headstock, else near fine. With an LOA from David Crosby. Sold for $25,428.

Jon Bon Jovi’s guitar, played onstage by Jon in Boston on 1 March 2011 during the Bon Jovi Live Tour, and signed in silver marker by him, along with the date played. Takamine acoustic-electric guitar is model EF 341SC, and serial #10110447, housed in Takamine hard-shell guitar case. Lot also includes a Bon Jovi COA, originally sold by the band a charity auction, as well as original glossy 8” x 10” photos of Bon Jovi playing this guitar in Boston, and him signing it. Gene Simmons KISS stage-played guitar, one of his custom Punisher bass guitars, with Simmons also signing the front of the guitar and writing the most famous lyrics from KISS’ songs. Simmons signs “Gene Simmons” in silver pen on the black front and also writes in artistic, stylized handwriting for excellent visual appeal: “Rock & Roll All Nite / And Party Every Day – / You Drive Us Wild We’ll / Drive You Crazy – This is a Stage / Played Bass – KISS”. Lot also includes a Simmons signed COA, photos of Simmons signing the guitar, and photos of him playing it on stage during the KISS 2019 End of the Road tour. Housed in custom Punisher case. Fender Swinger guitar, personally owned by John Entwistle of The Who from 1969 when the band released their classic rock opera ”Tommy”. The Fender Swinger guitar is one of the rarest production guitars, with only 250 to 300 made and less than 30 in this Lake Placid Blue finish, aged to a deep green. Guitar shows serial #264153 on its neckplate, matching the guitar in John Entwistle’s book ”Bass Culture: The John Entwistle Bass Collection”, where it’s featured on page 56; copy of the book is included. Also included are two lot tags and lotting sticker from Sotheby’s where the guitar sold on 13 May 2003 as lot 191 in John Entwistle’s estate sale, ”The John Entwistle Collection”. Some nicks and chipping to body of guitar, as expected from use, overall very good condition. In Fender hardshell case measuring 41” x 14”, which has an old Continental Airlines tag tucked inside. A scarce guitar by one of the greatest rock ‘n roll bassists. Sold for $7,500.
