Jimi Hendrix Experience Signatures — Perhaps the Best Signatures of the Group Ever Available, With Jimi Writing, “to an Electric lady / Jimi Hendrix” — With Roger Epperson COA

Fantastic set of signatures by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, signed by all three, Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding. Hendrix inscribes the note, ”Love always to Maribeth / Stay Sweet / to an Electric lady / Jimi Hendrix”, adding two hearts and dating the signature to 16 November 1968. Mitchell additionally signs ”Best Witches / Mitch *” and Redding signs, ”love / Noel Redding xxx”.

Signatures in pencil are on a piece of ”In flight…American Airlines” stationery, where the recipient, Maribeth, was a stewardess on the band’s flight that day. They were traveling to Cincinnati, Ohio where they were performing that night. Paper measures 7.25” x 10”. Folds and some creasing, and a bit of chipping to right side, otherwise near fine condition. With a COA from Roger Epperson for all three signatures. Sold for $8,236

Jimi Hendrix Signature Without Inscription — Hendrix Draws a Heart Symbol & Writes ”Love and peace / Jimi Hendrix” — With Roger Epperson COA

Jimi Hendrix signed boarding pass sleeve, with Hendrix signing in dark blue ballpoint, ”Love and peace [heart symbol] / Jimi Hendrix”. Signature was acquired in person by the consignor, who met Hendrix in the Memphis airport on 10 June 1970 after Hendrix asked her to have a drink at the bar. Not yet being 21, she reportedly ordered a Coke. She also obtained the signature of bassist Billy Cox, who signs the back of the sleeve. Boarding pass remains tucked into the sleeve, which measures 4” x 8”. Light uniform toning and wear, overall in very good plus condition. With a COA from Roger Epperson for both signatures. Sold for $5,824.

Jimi Hendrix Autograph With His Revolutionary Band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience — With PSA/DNA COA

Incredible scarce and coveted signatures by the short-lived through highly influential rock band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Vintage ink signatures, “Love always, Jimi Hendrix autograph [with hand-drawn heart]”, “Noel Redding” and “Love, Mitch” on an off-white 3.5″ x 5.25″ lightly-lined slip. In very good condition, with partial separation and tear to central horizontal fold, scattered creasing and wrinkling, edge tears, and some mild toning. Despite the flaws, all three signatures are crisp, large and completely legible, with a Jimi Hendrix autograph perched above those of his bandmates. Accompanied by PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $3,670.

Jimi Hendrix Autograph — Signed on ”The Jimi Hendrix Experience” Promotional Postcard — With Epperson/REAL COA — Scarce

Jimi Hendrix autograph on  a 1967 Track Records promotional postcard for ”The Jimi Hendrix Experience” LP ”Are You Experienced.” The superstar rock guitarist signs, ”Jimi Hendrix”. The verso of the 4” x 6” card features a photo of Hendrix with Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding, the three musicians who made up the psychedelic rock band. With Roger Epperson/REAL COA. Tape residue to top of photo on verso, and toning to signature side of card, else very good.  Dark Jimi Hendrix autograph.  Sold for $2,772.

Jimi Hendrix Personally Owned & Worn Scarf — With Sotheby’s Provenance

Psychedelic sheer scarf personally owned and worn by Jimi Hendrix. The blue, red and pink scarf was worn by Hendrix as a sash and belt for several years, as stated in the LOA from Sharon Lawrence, his friend and biographer . Measures 70″ x 9.5″. Comes with photos and description from original Sotheby’s auction held in 1997. Minor wrinkling, otherwise near fine condition. Sold for $2,460.

Rare Early Janis Joplin Letter to Her Boyfriend — “…I guess having depressingly first hand knowledge of social problems helps…” — 1965

Janis Joplin autograph letter signed to her fiance Peter de Blanc in New York. Her career would launch only months after this letter, written in 1965 after she returned home to Port Arthur, Texas to get sober. It reads in part: “Peter – I got this back today & I’m very proud! Thought you might like to read it. Need I say – highest in the class. Mother said to call it my application for the position of wife of a Mensa member…I guess having depressingly first hand knowledge of social problems helps. Hope you don’t think I’m being silly in sending this……Love you, J”. 6″ x 9.25″ letter on loose leaf lined notebook paper is in very good to near fine condition. From the collection of 1965 letters of Joplin’s then fiance, Peter de Blanc. Sold for $1,177.
