Jim Morrison Signed Personal Copy of ”An American Prayer”
An American Prayer is a collection of Jim Morrison’s poetry that was privately printed for him in 1970. It’s also the name of an audio recording of Morrison’s poetry that took place in 1970, but were not released until 1978 with the addition of music from the band’s surviving members. We sold a first edition, first printing of An American Prayer, also signed by Morrison, for $10,000. The book was given by Morrison to WCKT reporter Jack F. Moore, Jr. following an interview at the Dade County Jail. Book is accompanied with an LOA from recipient’s son and a Roger Epperson COA.

The Doors Poster From 1967
The Kaleidoscope Club in Hollywood was a concert venue in the mid to late 1960s that revolved around the psychedelic and counterculture scenes. Some of the music acts that played there include Jefferson Airplane, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy and The Grateful Dead. We realized $3,936 for a Kaleidoscope Club promoting a performance by The Doors on 21-23 April 1967.

Jim Morrison Endorsed Check
We realized $3,066 for a Jim Morrison endorsed check that is signed “J Morrison” on the reverse. Check is dated 18 July 1969 from Johnson & Harband Management, the Los Angeles-based company that managed The Doors and other rock bands. Around this time Morrison and the The Doors were busy promoting their fourth studio album, The Soft Parade, which was released on the same date of the check.

HIWAY is an experimental film by Jim Morrison, Frank Lisciandro, Paul Ferrara, and Babe Hill that was filmed during the late 1960s. The 50 minute film lacks a traditional narrative and stars Jim Morrison as a hitchhiker in the desert as he reflects on nature and his existence. We sold a film poster for “HIWAY” for $1,650. Poster is for the film’s world premiere on 27 March 1970 at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver.
