Beatles’ George Harrison’s Sitar Up for Auction, Bidding Starts at $50,000
One of the instruments of a late Beatles musician is up for auction.
George Harrison’s sitar will be available Sept. 28 in New York by Nate D. Sanders Auctions, according to a New York Post report.
The sitar bidding will begin at $50,000, the report said.
Harrison purchased the wooden sitar with steel strings from London’s Indiacraft shop in 1965 and first used it to record the hit “Norwegian Wood” on the album “Rubber Soul” that same year, the Post reported.
