Two-piece ensemble in turquoise and white gingham by “Ellorene of Hyannis” comprises (1) a pair of drawstring shorts with front panel in white elastic designed to accommodate a growing belly, fully lined and measuring 16″ across the hip and (2) matching sleeveless top featuring a pleated back and shoulder straps 1.5″ in width that fasten with white pearlescent buttons on the chest. Measures 18″ across the chest. It is unknown during which pregnancy Jackie wore the outfit. Toning to fabric at top of shoulder straps, else near fine. With provenance from the well-known July 2003 Kennedy auction held at Hantman’s. Sold for $1,200.
