A Ho Chi Minh autograph is super rare.  We at NateDSanders.com sold several Hi Chi Minh signed items. Please see below for details and realized prices:  Ho Chi Minh Autograph Letter Signed from 1946 — ”…severe disciplinary action will be taken against those guards…” Ho Chi Minh autograph letter signed, dated 2 May 1946 as President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Ho writes to Army Captain John I. Farris, stationed in Hanoi for nine months as the most senior American military member of a team sent by the U.S. to investigate American planes shot down in the area. In this letter, Ho responds to a letter by Farris regarding an incident at the Yen-Lap prison camp, where Vietnamese soldiers shot at American military. On official stationery, English letter reads in full, ”To Capt. Farris / American Mission / Dear Sir, I have received your letter dated April 29, 1946. An investigation is being ordered accordingly. And severe disciplinary action will be taken against those guards at Yen-Lap, who have been responsible of [sic] the incident. / I thank you very much for your friendly advice. / Best greetings / Yours truly / Ho Chi Minh / May 2d, 1946”. Single page letter penned in blue fountain pen measures 5.5” x 8.25”. Folds, light wear and creasing, and staple impression at upper left. With bold handwriting, overall in very good condition. Consigned by the family of Captain Farris. Sold for $5,539.

Ho Chi Minh Signed Photo — Also Signed by Raul Castro From 1966 Photo signed by Ho Chi Minh during the Vietnam War, and additionally signed by Raul Castro who dates his signature to 1966. The two men appear alongside each other at a conference for Vietnam and Cuban solidarity, with the flags of two communist countries in the background. Ho Chi Minh signs both in English and Vietnamese. Information regarding the event is written upon the verso. Glossy photo measures 6.75” x 4.75”. Irregularly trimmed top edge and some buckling, otherwise near fine. Sold for $5,355.

Ho Chi Minh Signed Photo — With University Archives COA Ho Chi Minh signed photo, depicting the Vietnamese leader with cigarette in mouth, tying the scarf of a young girl. He inscribes the margin in blue fountain pen, “Best love from / Oncle HochiMinh”. Glossy photo measures 4.75″ x 6.625″. Light creasing, else near fine with elegant penmanship. With University Archives COA. Sold for $4,830.

Ho Chi Minh Autograph Letter Signed from 1946 — In This Outstanding Letter, Ho Describes a Series of American Military Plane Crashes in Vietnam that Triggered a U.S. Investigation Ho Chi Minh autograph letter signed, dated 20 January 1946 as President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, following the 1945 August Revolution when the DRV took control of the country. Ho writes to Army Captain John I. Farris, stationed in Hanoi for nine months as the most senior American military member of a team sent by the U.S. to investigate American planes shot down in the area. In this significant letter, Ho describes the two plane crashes that triggered the investigation, as well as the particulars of a French man who appears to have been murdered. English letter reads in full, ”Dear Capt Ferris, [sic] / There are further informations concerning your Service: .1 – Jan. 19, 1945, a plane got burned at DONG-ZAO, Ninh-binh province. 5 American pilots died. .2 – December 1944, a plane was downed at MAU-A, yen-bay [bai] province. 5 airmen killed. .3 – In the forest of TAM-DAO, Thai-nguyen province, people found a destroyed plane. Concerning the Arnouk’s case. 1. He was a quiet man, didn’t do any political activities. 2. His two daughters are not liked by other French, especially by the French mission’s people. 3. When the American mission arrived here, the daughters received anonymous letters threatening them, because they are friendly with the English and American. 4. People noticed that these last few days, Mr. Arnouks had been followed by strangers. / Investigation is going on. Best greetings, / Yours truly, / Ho Chi Minh / Jan. 20, 1946 / 5 P.M.” Two page letter on a single sheet is penned in blue fountain pen, measuring 5.5” x 7.375”. Creasing, trimmed top edge, and small tear and paperclip impression at top. Very good condition with bold handwriting. Consigned by the family of Captain Farris. Sold for $3,781.

Scarce Ho Chi Minh Autograph Letter Signed — “…severe disciplinary action will be taken…” Scarce Ho Chi Minh autograph letter signed by the North Vietnamese President and Prime Minister. Dated 2 May 1946, shortly after taking control of the country, Minh writes to British Liaison Officer Captain Simpson Jones. In full, “Dear Sir, I thank you very much for your having informed me of the incident at Dongdang. Investigations are being ordered accordingly. And severe disciplinary action will be taken against those guards, who have been responsible of the incident. I take this opportunity to thank you once more for all your frank & friendly advices. Best greetings. Yours truly. Ho Chi Minh”. Full-page letter written on official state letterhead with “Democratic Republic of Vietnam” printed in Vietnamese at top. Letter measures 5.5″ x 8.25″. Two file holes at left and small spot of soiling, overall in very good condition.  Sold for $3,670.

Ho Chi Minh Autograph Letter Signed — Four Months After Being Elected President & Prime Minister of Vietnam Regarding Having Dinner With American Friends 15 Years Before They Would Be His Enemy Scarce Ho Chi Minh autograph letter signed as Prime Minister and President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. On official stationery with the country name in Vietnamese at top.  Letter to Captain Simpson Jones, British Liaison Officer, dated 11 May 1946, reads in full, “Dear Sir, 1. Monday evening, I wish to invite you to a family dinner, with a small number of American & Chinese friends. Will you be so good as to postpone your travel until the next day?  2. There will be no difficulty. But I ask you to have your National flag on your DUKW, & kindly slow down your car a little, while passing the guard posts, so that the guards can see your flag. Best friendship! Yours truly, Ho Chi Minh”. Single page letter, written in blue ink, displays the well-educated Minh’s adept knowledge of the English language. Letter measures 5.5″ x 8.25″. File holes to left and a small tear resulting, else very good condition.  Sold for $3,617.

Ho Chi Minh Autograph Letter Signed from 1946 — ”…I’ll bring our EX-emperor Bao-dai to visit you…” Ho Chi Minh autograph letter signed, dated 15 January 1946 as President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Ho writes to Army Captain John I. Farris, stationed in Hanoi for nine months as the most senior American military member of a team sent by the U.S. to investigate American planes shot down in the area. In this letter, Ho offers to bring former Vietnamese Emperor Bao-Dai to visit with Farris; following Bao-Dai’s abdication on 25 August 1945, Ho kept him on as an advisor, rather than executing him. On official stationery, English letter reads in full, ”Capt. Ferris. [sic] / Dear Sir, I’ll bring our EX-emperor Bao-dai to visit you tomorrow, Jan. 16, at 9 A.M. / Will you be so kind as to let me know if the time is convenient for you. / Best greetings. / Yours sincerely / Ho Chi Minh / Jan. 15, 46”. Single page letter penned in blue fountain pen measures 5.5” x 8.25”. Creasing, a few small closed tears and paperclip impression at top left. Very good condition with bold handwriting. Consigned by the family of Captain Farris. Sold for $3,438.

Rarely Encountered 7″ x 9″ Ho Chi Minh Autograph on His Photo Rare Ho Chi Minh autograph on a photo, whose name became synonymous with the North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong. Black and white photo measuring 7″ x 9″, shows Minh climbing down a staircase of a plane. Boldly signed at top in blue fountain ink and in fine condition.  Sold for $1,800.

Ho Chi Minh Autograph From 1958 as President of Vietnam Ho Chi Minh signed card as President of North Vietnam, dated 7 February 1958. At this time, North Vietnam was technically at peace, having ended the conflict with France and before hostilities with the United States escalated. Minh signs the autograph card made for collector P.S. Bhiwandiwala of India, whose printed information appears on the verso. Handwritten information about Minh also appears in the collector’s hand underneath the signature. Card measures 4.5″ x 3.25″. Very good condition. Sold for $1,500.
