Absolutely breathtaking signed silver gelatin photo by Herbert Ponting, the official photographer for the Terra Nova Expedition to Antarctica led by Robert Falcon Scott, whose team would perish after reaching the South Pole in 1912. One of the few survivors who left before the final push to the the South Pole, Ponting captured this image at the Ross Island base camp, circa 1910.
