Here is a Heike Kamerlingh Onnes signed item we have sold in the past:
Heike Kamerlingh Onnes Autograph Letter Signed
Heike Kamerlingh Onnes (21 September 1853 – 21 February 1926) was a Dutch physicist and Nobel laureate. He exploited the Hampson–Linde cycle to investigate how materials behave when cooled to nearly absolute zero and later to liquefy helium for the first time, in 1908. He also discovered superconductivity in 1911.
Nobel Prize winning physicist Heike Kamerlingh Onnes autograph letter signed, dated 5 May 1900 from Leiden, Netherlands. In this letter to fellow Nobel laureate Wilhelm Wien, Kamerlingh Onnes asks Wien to contribute to the “Festschrift” or celebration for Hendrik Lorentz’s 25th anniversary of his doctorate, which would take place on 11 December 1900. Like Onnes and Wien, Lorentz would also go on to win the Nobel Prize in Physics. Letter in German is penned on a page of bifolium stationery, measuring 4.5″ x 7.125″ as folded. Single fold, and two hole punches, one of which affects the end of Onnes’ signature, otherwise near fine. With full translation from the original German. Sold for $5,040.
