Here is a Harry Houdini signed photo we have sold in the past:
Harry Houdini Signed 8″ x 10″ Mat Finish Photo
Harry Houdini (born Erik Weisz, later known as Ehrich Weiss or Harry Weiss; March 24, 1874 – October 31, 1926) was a Hungarian-born American escape artist, illusionist, stunt performer and mysteriarch, noted for his escape acts. He first attracted notice in vaudeville in the United States and then as “Harry ‘Handcuff’ Houdini” on a tour of Europe, where he challenged police forces to keep him locked up. Soon he extended his repertoire to include chains, ropes slung from skyscrapers, straitjackets under water, and having to escape from and hold his breath inside a sealed milk can with water in it.
Harry Houdini signed 8″ x 10″ photo, showing the famed illusionist in profile. Houdini writes in bold blue ink, “To my friend Tod Anderson / good luck / Houdini / June 1 1920”. Matte photo shows mounting remnants to verso, and light buckling and wear, but displays beautifully in very good plus condition. Notation on verso reads “Houdini at the Palladium. N.B. There is no copyright fee to use this picture.” Sold for $2,025.
