Ray Bradbury’s Own Hanna-Barbera Animation Cel Featuring 8 Characters — Including Yogi Bear, Snagglepuss & Huckleberry Hound
Ray Bradbury personally owned Hanna-Barbera animation cel. Large cel depicts a parade of 8 of the classic animation studio’s most beloved characters: Yogi Bear, Snagglepuss, Huckleberry Hound, Augie Doggie & Doggie Daddy, Quick Draw McGraw, Magilla Gorilla and Peter Potamus. Characters are lined up and bearing gifts including wrapped presents, flowers and in Snagglepuss’ case, a snake. Measures 26.25” x 10.25”. Accompanied by a painted background labeled, ”A / B / 45-16 / CBG39” in black felt tip along top edge. Minor wear to black outlines, else near fine. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate. Sold for $920.
Hanna & Barbera Signed Original Hand-Painted Production Cel for ”The Jetsons”
Bill Hanna & Joe Barbera signed and hand-painted production celluloid for ”The Jetsons”, used in the creation of the popular series and showing George Jetson with his boss Cosmo Spacely. Cel measures 12” x 9”, framed to 21.5” x 18.5”. Some nicks to frame, but cel is in near fine condition. With Hanna-Barbera stamp authenticating piece as original hand-painted production cel. Sold for $756.
“Tom and Jerry” Animation Cels From the 1954 Short “Baby Butch”
“Tom and Jerry” animation cels of the eponymous characters, as well as Butch Cat, screen-used in the 1954 short “Baby Butch”. Disguised as an innocent baby, Butch Cat has infiltrated himself into Tom and Jerry’s home, in order to steal the ham, and hides in the refrigerator here. Cels and background measure 11.5″ x 8.75″, in the original frame measuring 16.75″ x 14.75″. Signed on the mat by producer Fred Quimby, who ran the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer animation studio, “To Steve Schneider: Who helped his mother give us a swell ice box luncheon, Sincerely – Tom and Jerry Quimby”. Cels remain very well preserved, with a bit of cracking upon magnification. Very good plus condition. Sold for $625.
