Madonna’s American Music Award For Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist of 1987 — Fine
American Music Award presented to Madonna in 1987 at the height of her fame. Award recognizes the best selling solo artist in history as ”Favorite Pop/Rock Female Video Artist / ‘Madonna’ / 1987”. Award was presented to the superstar on the heels of her record ”True Blue,” the album carrying hits ”True Blue,” ”Live to Tell,” ”Papa Don’t Preach,” ”Open Your Heart” and ”La Isla Bonita.” Unlike the Grammys, which are determined by music industry insiders, the American Music Awards are based on record sales, airplay and video viewing. Pyramid shaped lucite award measures 15.5” in total height on a 5” x 5” square base. Fine. Sold for $25,428.
Richard Wright’s personally owned RIAA award for ”Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd, consistently ranked one of the greatest rock albums of all time. White matte award features a gold vinyl record above the album’s cover art and a plaque reading ”PRESENTED TO / RICHARD WRIGHT / TO COMMEMORATE THE SALE OF MORE THAN / ONE MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF THE / HARVEST RECORDS / LONG-PLAYING RECORD ALBUM / ‘THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON”’. Award is in original frame, with RIAA framer, New York Frame & Picture Co. label on paper backing. Measures 17.75” x 21.5”. Some nicks to wood frame, and a few spots of discoloration to matte at the very bottom, otherwise near fine condition. Accompanied by an LOA from Wright’s second wife, Franka Wright. A fine piece of Pink Floyd memorabilia. Sold for $25,000.

Axl Rose’s American Music Award presented to Guns N’ Roses as Favorite Heavy Metal / Hard Rock Artist at the 1992 ceremony. Axl Rose gifted the AMA to his backup vocalist and personal assistant after reportedly using it as a doorstop. Rose notoriously harbors a disdain for award ceremonies and recently declined induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Award plate on the base reads, ”Favorite Artist / Heavy Metal/Hard Rock / GUNS N’ ROSES / 1991”. GN’R won the award for their dual albums ”Use Your Illusion I” and ”Use Your Illusion II”. Such GN’R hits as ”November Rain”, ”Don’t Cry” and ”Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” came from these records, which together have sold over fourteen million copies. Unlike the Grammy’s, which are determined by music industry insiders, the American Music Awards are based on record sales, airplay and video viewing. Pyramid-shaped lucite award is mounted to a black square base, measuring 14.25” in height and 4.75” across. Abrasions to base and a quarter-sized area of irregularity to lucite at the bottom right corner of the pyramid, else very good. With notarized signature and LOA from the backup singer. Sold for $19,103.
Watkins Glen “Summer Jam” Concert Poster — Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead & The Band — First Printing
Original and scarce first printing of the “Summer Jam” Concert poster, which took place 28 July 1973 at the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Raceway in New York. Poster measures 16.25″ x 22.5″ with colorful, psychedelic nymph-like imagery, including the iconic Grateful Dead skull and roses insignia. Reads in part: “…The Grateful Dead plus friends & surprises. Saturday, July 28 from 12 noon on / Tickets: $10 includes parking & camping…” With “Scoop Printing Co.” printed at lower right, indicating it as a first printing. Near fine. Sold for $1,903.

Grateful Dead Contract Signed Rock n’ Roll Autograph
Grateful Dead contract signed by six members of the eclectic and legendary band that defies classification. Last page of fourteen page contract is signed in order, “Jerry Garcia”, “Mickey Hart”, “Bill Kreutzmann”, “Phil Lesh”, “Brent Mydland” and “Bob Weir”. Undated, though likely in the 1980’s when Brent Mydland played with the band. Single page is in near fine condition with filing holes to left margin and staple marks to upper left corner. Sold for $1,883.
