Original black cowhide briefcase owned by President Gerald Ford. Briefcase with silver buckles has an ornate gold-stamped inscription on top reading ”Hon. Gerald R. Ford”. President Ford’s personally owned Russian fur hat. Ford received the distinctive hat during a November 1974 trip to meet with General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev in Vladivistok, Russia. Includes a photo of the President donning his ”ushanka” hat with Brezhnev, as a symbolic sign of ”D’etente” (easing of strained relations) during the Cold War period.
