George Patton Signed Photo, Measuring 7.75” x 9.75” — With COA From University Archives
George Patton signed photo, showing the World War II General in his 4-star uniform. Semi-matte photo is signed ”GS Patton Jr.” Measures 7.75” x 9.75”. Some buckling and mild creasing, overall in very good condition. With COA from University Archives. Sold for $13,740.

George Patton signed photo, showing the World War II General in his Army uniform with his famous ivory handled pistol holstered at his side. Glossy photo is signed ”G.S. Patton Jr.” at bottom. Measures 8” x 9.5”. Moderate creasing, and closed tear at right side measuring approximately 1.25”, otherwise very good condition. With COA from University Archives. Sold for $5,000.


Very unique and interesting collectible from George S. Patton from 1923, then a student at the Command and General Staff School in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas with the rank of Major. Lot includes two of Patton’s military insignia, and also a letter signed by Patton where he references the gift to an insignia collector, with other fantastic content such as referring to himself a a ”Fighting soldier not a Clerk”. Dated 5 August 1923 on Staff School letterhead, Patton writes in part, ”…I am not real famous, but since you took the time to write I will send you a couple items of insignia of mine. A set of US collar insignia & one of my ribbons bars [both included]…I have not been in the Army long enough to build up a surplus of items. Anyway I hope you enjoy them it is my pleasure to send them to you…[signed] GS Patton Jr.” Patton then adds an amusing postscript, ”Please excuse my typing, as I am a Fighting soldier not a Clerk.” Interestingly, later that month in August 1923 Patton saved several children from drowning and was awarded the Silver Lifesaving Medal by the U.S. Coast Guard as a result. Letter measures approximately 10.5” x 7.25” with original mailing envelope. Nicely framed with the two military insignia to a size of 22.5” x 20.75”. Near fine condition. Sold for $4,326.

George Patton 6.75” x 9.75” Signed Military Portrait in Uniform
”George Patton” signed portrait. The WWII general inscribes the lower right corner, ”John C Stanford / with all good wishes / G S Patton Jr”. Stanford’s US Army School Tank Corps certificate for Stanford accompanies the signed image. Bust portrait of Patton in uniform measures 6.75” x 9.75”. Paper remnants to verso from mounting in an album, else near fine. Sold for $3,049.

George S. Patton West Point Autograph Letter Signed “your loving brother / Georgie.”
General George S. Patton’s personal letter, handwritten by him while a young man studying at West Point. In this letter dated 18 August 1904, Patton writes in part: “the first class were having artillery practice this morning and though we could not see the guns we could see the shell bursting on the hills and it looked fine” Letter is signed “your loving brother / Georgie.” Letter is double sided, folded card style. Near fine. Sold for $1,463.

George S. Patton typed letter signed, written at the beginning of the Battle of Metz on 30 September 1944, and accompanied by original mailing envelope also signed by Patton. At this time, Patton’s Third U.S. Army was hampered by heavy rains and Patton took time to respond to a letter from a family friend. Addressed to D.H. Knowlton, Postmaster of S. Hamilton, Massachusetts, Patton writes in part, ”…I am always happy to hear from you and get glances of the family. / With good wishes to all at Hamilton…[signed] GS Patton Jr.”. Single page on Third U.S. Army Headquarters, Office of the Commanding General stationery, letter measures 8” x 10”. Mailing envelope measures 9” x 4”, signed ”GS Patton Jr.” at upper left, and postmarked 1 October 1944. Folds and creasing, overall very good condition. Sold for $1,331.

General George Patton 1945 Typed Letter Signed
WWII General George Patton typed letter signed on 29 July 1945. Written on U.S. Army stationery, Patton here replies to a request for his autograph: “My dear Mrs. Knutson / The signature to this letter is the autograph you requested. Truly yours, [signed] GS Patton, Jr.”. Measures 8.25″ x 10.5″. Folds and very light toning. Very good plus. Sold for $1,057.
