Frank Lloyd Wright Signed Book Architecture Modern Life
Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the most iconic names in architecture. He is remembered for organic architecture which ensured the relationship between the occupant, structure and environment were all in balance. He was also known for his Prairie School movement that was inspired by the horizontal plains of the American Midwest and set the stage for modern architecture. One of Wright’s most famous works is Fallingwater, a house he designed in 1935 in Pennsylvania.
Frank Lloyd Wright signed “Architecture and the Modern Life”, Wright’s exploration of how architecture and modern industrial civilization interact. Inscribed to one of his students, Wright signs the photographic frontispiece showing the Taliesin North estate in Wisconsin, “To Jim / at Taliesin / Frank Lloyd Wright”. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1937 stated second edition. Book measures 6.75″ x 8.75″. Light toning and shelf wear, with tape remnants to boards and pastedowns; portion of dust jacket has been taped to rear pastedown, otherwise clean and bright interior. Good to very good condition. Sold for $1,170.
