French Artist Fernand Leger Signed First Edition of His Catalog, “La Forme Humaine Dans L’Espace”
French Artist Fernand Leger signed first edition of “La Forme Humaine Dans L’Espace” catalog, published by Les Editions de L’Arbre: Montreal: 1945. The painter of vibrant cubist abstract works signs “Fernand Leger” to his French autograph inscription upon the half-title page. He dates it August 1945, the year he became a Communist. Catalog of his works measures approximately 7.5″ x 9.5″. Creasing and soiling to covers and spine, light toning to leaves, and some scattered light soiling. Very good. Sold for $797.

Andy Warhol signed first edition of ”The Philosophy of Andy Warhol”, with his hand-drawn illustration of the Campbell’s soup can that he designed. Warhol signs ”To Joan / With Love / Andy Warhol” on the half-title page, where the Campbell’s sketch also appears. Published by Harcourt Brace: New York: 1975, first edition is housed in its original dust jacket. Runs 241pp., measuring 5.75” x 8.5”. Very light wear to dust jacket. Book is near fine. Sold for $2,250.
Salvador Dali Signed Sketch Within His Book, “Les Diners de Gala” — Near Fine Condition
Very well preserved copy of Salvador Dali’s cookbook, “Les Diners de Gala”, complete with a signed sketch by the artist covering two full pages, measuring 16″ x 11.75″. Upon the flyleaf and facing page, Dali draws a “Nazareno” holding a candle during Holy Week, and signs “Dali” below the inscription “A Ginesta”, done in black marker. Barcelona, Editorial Labor, S.A.: 1974. Cookbook is profusely illustrated with Dali artwork, mostly in color, and bound in buckram measuring 8.5″ x 11.75″. Near fine condition. Sold for $2,200.
