When we at NateDSanders.com were hired to auction off the Ray Bradbury estate by Ray’s children and one of the most prominent things in Ray’s collection was Eyvind Earle art. In fact, Eyvind Earle art was hung in his living room in Los Angeles.

Eyvind Earle Original Oil Painting From Ray Bradbury’s Personal Estate
Original Eyvind Earle art, an oil painting of a California central coast valley, personally owned by Ray Bradbury. From his work as a Disney artist, Earle was known for his background illustrations of many films, and was responsible for the styling, background and colors of ”Sleeping Beauty”. Oil painting on board portrays a landscape of a California coastal mountain range in golden afternoon light, with tones in olive greens and warm yellows. Signed ”Eyvind Earle / 8.12.76” at lower right. Painting measures 41” x 31” and is framed in a large shadowbox black frame to an overall size of 54” x 44.25”. Near fine condition. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate. Sold for $12,500.

Original Eyvind Earle art, a 1976 oil painting of a California mountain range, personally owned by Ray Bradbury. From his work as a Disney artist, Earle was known for his background illustrations of many films, most notably Sleeping Beauty”. Oil painting on board portrays a landscape of a California coastal mountain range in clear morning light. Signed, ”Eyvind Earle / 8.20.76” at lower right. Painting measures 31” x 16” and is framed in a large shadowbox black frame to an overall size of 44” x 29”. Painting is in near fine condition. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate. Sold for $9,375.

Original Eyvind Earle art, an oil painting of a coastal California landscape, personally owned by Ray Bradbury. Earle worked as a Disney artist and was known for his background illustrations of many films, most notably ”Sleeping Beauty”. Oil painting on board portrays a landscape of a California coastal mountain range in golden afternoon light. No visible signature, though possibly signed on verso. Painting measures 13” x 17” and is framed in a large shadowbox black frame to an overall size of 26” x 30.5”. Small chip to center of painting causing a white speck, else near fine condition. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate. Sold for $3,750.
Limited edition silkscreen — Eyvind Earle art, titled ”Spring”, from the personal collection of Ray Bradbury. Art is signed, ”Eyvind Earle” at lower right, with edition number ”28/280” at lower left. Earle’s stylized, verdant landscape portrays a hilltop scene, with a pair of cattle grazing in the most sunlit area. Silkscreen on paper dates to 1980. Measures 22” x 28”, framed to an overall size of 35.25” x 29.5”. Near fine. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate. Sold for $2,856.

Art is signed, ”Eyvind Earle” at lower right, with edition number ”33/80” at lower left. Earle’s stylized, verdant coastal landscape portrays the California coastline, likely in the area of Big Sur or Monterey. Silkscreen on paper dates to 1988. Measures 20” x 30”, framed to an overall size of 29.5” x 39.5”. Near fine. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate. Sold for $1,221.
