“Desert Fox” Erwin Rommel Autograph Letter Signed

Johannes Erwin Eugen Rommel (15 November 1891 – 14 October 1944) was a German general and military theorist. Popularly known as the Desert Fox, he served as field marshal in the Wehrmacht (armed forces) of Nazi Germany during World War II, as well as serving in the Reichswehr of the Weimar Republic, and the army of Imperial Germany.

WWII German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel autograph letter signed, “Erwin”. Upon a postcard, Rommel writes to his wife, in part, “Dearest Lu [Lucia Maria]…Tonight a guest as ‘Illustrious Highness’ – Hopefully you have fully recovered. How about a hot bath…In my thoughts I am…happy in the park at our house and in the garden. Most sincere greetings and kisses…” Silver gelatin Ursula Blau photograph on the verso shows the Schlob Cecilienhof, the last palace built by the ruling Hohenzollern family and the location of the 1945 Potsdam Conference.
