Fleet Admiral Ernest King’s Navy Pilot Wing Signed

Fleet Admiral Ernest King’s Navy Pilot wing donated by him in a Navy Relief fundraiser. King became the U.S. Navy’s second most senior officer and the second admiral to be promoted to five star rank during the war. Ornate 3.5″ bullion Naval Aviator wing resembles a kind of patch that could be sewn on King’s uniform. Also includes a 3″ x 5″ typed signed card reading in full: “Army & Navy Relief Fund Auction / Item; Navy Pilots Bullion Wings / Control Number 201 / Donated By: Flt. Adm. Ernest King USN”, signed boldly “EJ King”. Near Fine condition overall. Sold for $1,469.
