Two-time Academy Award winner Elizabeth Taylor is a favorite among classical Hollywood cinema. Her career began in the 1940s as a child actor and by 1963 was famously paid $1 million for appearing in Cleopatra, the most expensive movie to produce at the time. Elizabeth Taylor is also known for her philanthropy in HIV/AIDS activism later in her life.

Crew-signed copy of ”Giant” by Edna Ferber, published by Pocket Books: New York: 1953. Paperback is signed upon the front pastedown and fly-leaf by the stars of the film: ”James Dean”, ”Elizabeth Taylor”, ”Rock Hudson”, ”Jane Withers”, ”Mercedes McCambridge” and by the director ”George Stevens” and special effects designer ”Harold Webb”. Webb, Withers and McCambridge add a dedication in their hand. James Dean may have signed twice as ”James” appears again above Rock Hudson’s signature. Book runs 389pp. and measures 4.25” x 6.25”, housed in a chocolate leather case with gilt lettering. First leaf is absent. Handwritten note and prior owner’s sticker on rear pastedown. Creasing to covers and surface loss to rear cover. Very good condition. Sold for $5,625.

Elizabeth Taylor document signed for an appearance on ”General Hospital”. Taylor guest starred as Helena Cassadine on the long-running daytime drama. Typed contract is signed ”Elizabeth Taylor” in purple felt tip and dated 22 September 1981. Runs 2pp. and measures 8.5” x 11”. Creasing, punch holes to left margin and staple punctures to upper left corner, else near fine. Sold for $625.

Elizabeth Taylor contract signed, dated 3 November 1947 and addressed to Loew’s Incorporated. Here, MGM releases Taylor as she agrees to visit a hospital in Pasadena, California at the request of the Volunteer Army Canteen Service. Signed boldly ”Elizabeth R. Taylor” in black ink. Document on one page measures 8” x 10.5”, in near fine condition. Sold for $500.

Elizabeth Taylor contract signed, dated 21 February 1949, addressed to Taylor’s employer Loew’s Inc. and co-signed by Taylor’s mother, Sara Sothern Taylor. Letter informs Loew’s Inc. that Taylor has agreed to appear on the Betty Crocker Radio Program and that ”…such appearance shall not be deemed to be rendered by me under my contract of employment with you and that no compensation shall be payable…” Contract measures 8” x 9.5” on one page. Expected folds from mailing, else near fine. Sold for $413.
