Cy Young Single-Signed Baseball
Incredibly scarce Cy Young single-signed baseball, where Young signs his name and also “814 – 511” designating the number of games he had started (814) and the number won (511). The date of 2 May 1950 also appears on the ball, in much lighter ink, which may have been the day that Young signed the ball; the name Cy Young is also written on the ball in another hand. Ball is encapsulated in a sealed PSA/DNA ball holder with grade. The signature has been graded a 6 out of 10 and the overall ball and autograph together; a 4. One of the scarcest and desirable Cy Young signed baseballs ever to appear on the market. Sold for $15,732.

Baseball Hall-of-Famer Cy Young signature on Cooperstown National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum postcard featuring Young’s HOF plaque. Young signs in blue ink across the width of the 3.5″ x 5.5″ card: “Cy Young”. During his 22-year baseball career, Young established numerous pitching records, some of which have stood for a century. In 1956 the “Cy Young Award” was created to honor the previous season’s best pitcher. The postcard shows minor toning and five small pin holes puncture the top, else very good condition. With JSA COA. Sold for $1,942.

Signatures from baseball’s greats, authenticated by PSA. Bottom-border signature reads “Cy Young” in blue fountain pen. Item verso carries nine additional signatures in blue ink. The highlight of this gathering is an early vintage Mickey Mantle autograph. Other highlights include Jas. B. Armstrong, Bob Bender, Yogi Berra, Ford Frick (pencil), Ed Lopat, Gil McDougald, Allie Reynolds, and Wm. (Bill) Terry. Overall very good condition with clean reverse and spots of clear tape visible at the top corners on the front. Sold for $1,654.

Cy Young signed postcard of his Hall of Fame plaque from the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Young signs ”Cy Young” in blue ink on the 3.625” x 5.5” card. Note on pencil on verso indicates that the card was signed on 23 July 1952 when the recipient bumped into Young at the Ashtabula Hotel in Cooperstown. Some toning and unapparent dampstaining. Overall very good condition. Sold for $938.
