Clyde Barrow Autograph Note Signed — Infamous Gangster Sends a Postcard to His Mother — ”…hello mother – just fine. We are…drunk as hell…” — With JSA COA
Clyde Barrow note signed on a postcard, dated 30 September 1929. Before he became half of the 1930’s crime duo of Bonnie and Clyde, Barrow sends a postcard from Mexico addressed to Mrs. H.B. Barrow in Dallas. He writes in pencil, ”hello mother – just fine. We are in old Mexico. drunk as hell. Will see you in about 3 weeks. Clyde + Grace.” Only 20 years old at this time, Barrow met Bonnie Parker a few months later, and would be dead within five years after a multi-state crime spree that captured the public imagination. A Mexican stamp is affixed to the upper right corner of the 3.25” x 5.5” postcard. Light soiling, else very good. Nicely framed with period photographs of him and Bonnie. With JSA COA. Sold for $10,780.
