Brian Epstein Contract Signed — for Beatles Opening Band to Appear on “Shindig” — 1964

Brian Samuel Epstein (19 September 1934 – 27 August 1967) was a British music entrepreneur who managed the Beatles from 1962 until his death. He was referred to as the “Fifth Beatle” due to his role in the group’s business affairs, image and rise to global fame.

Brian Epstein’s signed contract for the band “Sounds Incorporated,” the Beatles opening act in their 1964 world tour. Dated 25 September 1964, on Dorchester London letterhead, contract specifies that the band appear on the television show “Shindig” which aired during the tour. Signature appears on page two and is very large. Two page document measures 8″ x 10″. Very minute creasing to edges, otherwise fine. Sold for $1,007.
