Bernard Krigstein Nude Watercolor — Measures 15″ x 10″
Bernard Krigstein (/ˈkrɪɡstaɪn/; March 22, 1919 – January 8, 1990), was an American illustrator and gallery artist who received acclaim for his innovative and influential approach to comic book art, notably in EC Comics. His artwork usually displayed the signature B. Krigstein. His best-known work in comic books is the eight-page story “Master Race”, originally published in the debut issue (cover-dated April 1955) of EC Comics’ Impact.

Bernard Krigstein Orig Art of Abolitionist John Brown
Bernard Krigstein illustration entitled “John Brown Is Executed”, rendered in pen, ink, and Zip-A-Tone. Illustration was done for the 1958 publication of “Border Hawk: August Bondi” by Lloyd Alexander, part of the Covenant Books series targeted towards young Jewish people, published by Farrar, Straus and Cudahy. Illustration measures 8.25″ x 8.25″ on board measuring 10″ x 15″. Near fine condition. Sold for $903.
