A BAFTA award rarely comes to auction. In fact, with all of the awards that we at NateDSanders.com Auctions have sold, we have only sold one BAFTA. Here it is, with description, picture and price:
BAFTA Award From 1980 — Solid Bronze Mask Statue
Impressive British Academy of Film and Television Arts award statue. The most prestigious media award in Britain is made of solid bronze, cast in the shape of a mask with one open eye. Mask’s concave side features a symbol of the atom. This award was likely bestowed circa 1980. Measures 10.5” in height and 6” wide across the cheekbones. Wooden base measures 3.25” square. Weighs 6 pounds, 8 ounces. Wood base needs refinishing, else near fine. Sold for $6,083.
