Arthur Conan Doyle ALS — “…unable to accept the invitation of the Lord Mayor + Lady Mayoress to the Festival Dinner on April 13th…” — 1910
Arthur Conan Doyle ALS. The “Sherlock Holmes” author’s letter, upon a single sheet of his personal stationery from his estate, Windlesham, reads in full, “Sir Arthur Conan Doyle regrets that he is unable to accept the invitation of the Lord Mayor + Lady Mayoress to the Festival Dinner on April 13th. / 29 March 1910″. Single-page letter is matted and framed with a photo of Doyle to an overall size of 13″ x 22.5″, with a viewable area of 4.5″ x 6.5”. Letter has not been removed from display but appears near fine.
