Original movie poster from “Rear Window”, Alfred Hitchcock’s celebrated film about suspicious goings-on in an apartment complex. Poster art is steeped in the ominous tone of the film, featuring James Stewart in close-up with a pair of binoculars; in the background are Grace Kelly and the brick wall of the apartment complex, complete with Stewart’s neighbors visible in the windows. Measures 28″ x 22″. Scattered small tears to edges all measuring 1.5″ or less, pinhole to center, pinhole to brick on right side and some paper loss to the letter “E” in Technicolor. Verso shows numerical notations, stamp from a previous seller and tape strips. In very good condition, having never been folded. Sold for $2,485.

Alfred Hitchcock signed self-portrait, drawn on the front free endpaper of ”Alfred Hitchcock Presents”. London: Max Reinhardt, 1959 first edition, fourth impression. Hitchcock here draws his famous profile in fine blue felt-tip, signed ”Alfred J Hitchcock”. Bound in red cloth boards with gilt lettering, and a gilt impression of his profile on the spine. Measures 5.75” x 8.75” and runs 372pp. Sunning to jacket spine, else near fine. Some foxing to endpapers and edges, otherwise book is near fine as well. Sold for $2,063.

Newspaper article taped to back indicates this was won at a charity auction in 1979. Creasing to corners, which can be framed out, and very light toning. Overall very good condition. Sold for $1,563.

Hitchcock and Bradbury sign below Hitch’s trademark profile. The story collection is one in a series of “Alfred Hitchcock Presents…” released in the 60’s and 70’s. Each volume contains stories with shock endings or fantastical elements by various authors including F. Scott Fitzgerald and Shirley Jackson. The 6″ x 8.5″ volume with unclipped dustjacket is near fine. Sold for $1,266.
