The Apollo 11 crew left a plaque on the moon’s lunar surface that astronauts signed along with President Nixon. The plaque reads, “Here Men From the Planet Earth First Set Foot Upon The Moon July 1969, A.D. We Came In Peace For All Mankind” and is symbolizes of unity of humankind. We sold a replica certificate of this plaque signed by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins and Richard Nixon for $15,000.

Fantastic Apollo 11 crew-signed photo, showing the Saturn V rocket lifting off into space on 16 July 1969. Boldly signed by Neil Armstrong in blue felt-tip, Buzz Aldrin in black fountain pen, and Michael Collins in black felt-tip. Without inscription. Half-glossy woven paper measures 8.5″ x 11″. Light wear and shallow corner creases, overall in very good to near fine condition. With Steve Zarelli Space Authentication COA. Sold for $14,700.

Apollo 11 crew signed lithograph measuring 20” x 16”, with bold, uninscribed autographs by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin. Photograph shows Buzz Aldrin, as captured by Neil Armstrong, placing the lunar seismometer on the moon’s surface. With ”First Man on the Moon” stamp and postal cancellations dated 20 July 1969, the day of the moon landing, and 9 September 1969, the day the stamp was issued. Very minute foxing on margin and a small bit of edgewear, overall in very good to near fine condition. One of the largest, finest Apollo 11 crew signed photos available. Sold for $10,250.

Apollo 11 Crew Signed Insurance Cover — Sold for $8,750
Apollo 11 crew-signed ”type three” insurance cover, signed by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Apollo 11 was the first to produce insurance covers for the families of the astronauts, with three different types of which this is type three. Cover features the Apollo 11 mission insignia, postmark from Kennedy Space Center on 16 July 1969, the day of the launch, and an Apollo 8 six-cent stamp. The signatures of ”Michael Collins”, ”Neil Armstrong” and ”Buzz Aldrin” prominently appear in blue felt tip. Measures 6.5” x 3.75”.

Apollo 11 crew signed 13.75” x 10.75” glossy photo. The three astronauts sign the 20.5” x 16.5” mat, ”Neil Armstrong”, ”M Collins” and ”Buzz Aldrin”. Printed across the top margin of the mat reads: ”Presented to Bill and Eleanor from the Crew of Apollo XI”. Slight fading to signatures, else near fine. Originally presented to the North American Aviation President William B. Bergen. Sold for $7,361.

Apollo 11 crew signed 10” x 8” glossy photo. The three astronauts sign, ”To Vince Hurley — / With Best Wishes From Apollo 11 / Neil Armstrong / M Collins / Buzz Aldrin”. NASA number ”S-69-31739” is printed in red in the top margin. Minor creasing, else near fine. Signatures are still bold and very bright. Accompanied by PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $7,361.

The entire Apollo 11 crew signs the mat surrounding a 7” x 7.25” glossy photo of Buzz Aldrin and the lunar lander on the surface of the moon. The three astronauts sign the 14” x 11” mat: ”Neil Armstrong”, ”M Collins” and ”Buzz Aldrin”. Some fading to signatures and minor chipping to mat. Overall near fine condition. Sold for $7,361.

One of the best Apollo 11 crew signed lunar photos available, measuring 10″ x 8″ with bold signatures in black ink. Glossy photo showing Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the lunar surface is signed by all three men, without inscription: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. NASA photo #69-H-1034 reads on verso, “Astronaut Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr., deploying solar wind experiment on lunar surface during the historic Apollo 11 mission. Astronaut Neil A. Armstrong is in foreground.” Photo is in near fine condition. With Steve Zarelli Space Authentication COA for all signatures. Sold for $7,350.

Apollo 11 crew-signed NASA photo. Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin each sign their spacesuits, with no inscription: ”Neil Armstrong”, ”M Collins” and ”Buzz Aldrin”. Semi-matte photo measures 10” x 8”. NASA backstamp on verso is printed above a short summary of Apollo 11. Very minor wear to bottom left corner and minor adhesive residue to verso, otherwise near fine condition. Sold for $6,875.

Crew-Signed “National Geographic” — Sold for $4,600
Apollo 11 crew signed “National Geographic” cover from the December 1969 issue, “First Explorers on the Moon”. Boldly signed by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin upon the image of Aldrin standing on the lunar surface, with Armstrong reflected in his visor. Cover is matted with another “National Geographic” cover from December 1978 signed by the three pilots of the Double Eagle II – Ben Abruzzo, Maxie Anderson and Larry Newman, after they made the first trans-Atlantic balloon crossing. Entire presentation measures 21.75″ x 16″. Apollo 11 signed cover is near fine. With Steve Zarelli Space Authentication COA for all three signatures. Sold for $4,600.

Crew-Signed “Chariots For Apollo” Book — Sold for $4,468
Scarce NASA ”Chariots For Apollo: A History of Manned Lunar Spacecraft” first-edition book signed by each Apollo 11 astronaut from the historic 1969 lunar landing mission. NASA: Washington, D.C.: 1979. Documenting the painstaking process of the Apollo 11 mission, from conception on earth to those first steps on the moon’s surface by Neil Armstrong. With 100+ photos and illustrations detailing the mission completed by Mission Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot, Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot, Buzz Aldrin. Book is signed and inscribed to Alan Lovelace, who was the Deputy Administrator of NASA from 2 July 1976 to 10 July 1981. Inscribed by Aldrin on flyleaf under which all three astronauts sign: ”To Al Lovelace / Best Wishes From Apollo 11 / Buzz Aldrin / 7-20-79 / Michael Collins / Neil Armstrong”. Aldrin and Collins sign in black ink; Armstrong signs in blue ink. Signatures are bold and clear. 538pp. book is bound in teal cloth boards with gilt lettering to cover and spine. Very minor rubbing to spine and minor sunning to edges, else near fine. With a signed letter of provenance from Lovelace on his personal stationery reading, ”This book was part of the private collection of the Deputy Administrator of NASA.” Also with a COA from PSA/DNA for all three signatures. Sold for $4,468.
