A.D. Greer Autumn Landscape
Autumn woodlands painting by legendary Texas landscape artist, A.D. Greer. Framed oil on canvas. Signed by Greer to lower right. Greer’s works have exhibited widely in Texas, the United States and abroad. His larger canvases, selling for as much as $150,000, have been purchased by the likes of Lyndon Johnson. The luminist landscapes for which he is best known capture both the peace and the majesty of nature, and this piece is a fine example of that quintessential style. A dirt path curling toward a distant pond pulls the viewer into the scene. Beside the path, tall birch trees stands proud, their leaves turning golden in the crisp autumn air. Canvas measures 20″ x 24″, framed 25.5″ x 29.5″. A stretcher beneath the canvas forms a slight ridge across the lower portion of the image. Hairline cracks are barely visible at canvas’ corners. Overall, an excellent example of Greer’s work in near fine condition. Sold for $5,389.

Floral still-life by renowned Texas impressionist, A.D. Greer. Framed oil on canvas depicts a vase of blossomed white, yellow and pink roses. Signed by Greer at lower left corner. Image measures 15″ x 19″; framed, 26″ x 30″. Fine condition. Sold for $1,764.
Large, Beautiful Floral Still Life Painting by Texas Artist A.D. Greer
Large oil on canvas entitled “Asters” by famed 20th century Texas artist A.D. Greer. Noted for his still lifes and romantic Southwestern landscapes, Greer painted this floral arrangement in 1955 in Taos, New Mexico. Canvas measures 27.5″ x 22.5″, framed to an overall size of 35″ x 30″. Fine condition. Sold for $1,260.
A.D. Greer Texas Landscape
Original oil painting from renowned Texas landscape artist, Aubrey Dale Greer, entitled, “Tranquil Afternoon.” Signed to lower right. A realist painter of Western landscapes and still lifes, Greer is a legend among Texan painters. His painting, “Cattle Country” was purchased by President Lyndon B. Johnson and exhibited at the White House during his presidency. On 1 November 1980, in recognition for his contributions to Texas, Greer was made an Honorary Texas Ranger. Painting measures approximately 34″ x 29″ framed. Mint condition. Sold for $1,242.
